Neither China’s steamy summer, nor the reported slowdown in the real estate market, have provided any respite from the relentless job changes among the country’s real estate professionals, as this week we once again have more new faces in new places than can be covered in this column. In our sample this today we have a trio of CBRE veterans resurfacing in new roles, two new additions at Cushman & Wakefield, and a new GM for a 100k sqm mall in Dalian. Read on for more details….
Jack Xiong has joined China Fortune Land Development (CFLD) as Head of the Shanghai-listed company’s Commercial Property Research Center. Based in Beijing, Xiong will take on his new role with the developer after spending more than 12 years with property service provider CBRE, most recently as a senior director and head of the company’s development consultancy division in Beijing.
Hajimu Taguchi has joined JLL as a National Director and head of leasing services in the real estate service provider’s Tokyo office. Prior to joining JLL in Japan, Taguchi-san served for 25 with CBRE, and spent the period from 2009 to 2013 as a Senior Director and head of the Japan desk for the company’s Greater China operations, based in Shanghai. From 2006-2009 Taguchi was Senior Director of Global Industrial and Logistics Services in CBRE’s Tokyo HQ.
Ronnie Yin has joined property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield as Business Development Director for the company’s facilities management division, based in its Shanghai office. Yin joins the New York-based private company from competitor JLL, where she had spent more than two years, most recently as Business Development Manager in the company’s facilities management department. The Swiss-educated executive also has experience with Compass Group China in the company’s sales division.
Alex Gee has joined Kardan Land as General Manager for the retail developer’s Galleria Dalian mall project. Before taking responsibility for the 100,000 square metre retail development project with the Beijing-based subsidiary of Europe’s Kardan NV, Gee had most recently served as General Manager at Turkish developer FIBA Group’s Star Mall in Shenyang. Gee also has experience managing a mall in Wuhan for Poly Real Estate, as well as with JLL and Shanghai Kinghill – the developers of Shanghai’s Superbrand Mall.
Nanlin (Allen) Li is now an Investment Associate with Grand China Road King JV Fund, a joint venture private equity fund created by partners Grand China (HK) Investment Management and Road King Properties. The Columbia University graduate takes on his responsibilities with the fund, which is focused on real estate development/acquisition opportunities in China, just nine months after joining Grand China.
David Still has joined Country Garden Holding as an Investment and Development Assistant Manager based in New York. Shenzhen-based Country Garden, which has already announced projects in Sydney, Australia, appointed former JLL member Patrick Zhu as its chief representative for the US market in March of this year. Still formerly served as with CBRE in its Shanghai office, before the real estate service provider began trimming back its China operation last year.
James Toh has joined Cushman & Wakefield as a Real Estate Manager with responsibility for managing the property portfolio for US multinational Honeywell in China. Now working on a secondment basis with Honeywell, before signing up with C&W Toh had spent five months with DTZ in Shanghai as an Assistant Manager in its office services division, where he had responsibility for landlord representation. Toh also was with DTZ for more than two years in Singapore.
