China Real Estate People in the News 2014-08-04

Despite news of a downturn, and a supposed seasonal lull for the summer, China’s real estate community showed a large number of moves this week, even at the senior level. We have a Siemen veteran moving to Singapore, Fosun bringing on board senior management for its logistics fund, Swire putting in place some business development for a new project in Hong Kong, and much more. Christian Kriwan SiemensChristian Kriwan has been promoted to Vice President & Head of Asset Management at Siemens, with responsibility for ASEAN, Pacific and Japan. Kriwan is now based in the German industrial conglomerate’s Singapore office where he has profit and loss responsibility for more than 100 locations covering approximately 300,000 square metres of facilities in 10 countries. The LMU Munich graduate was formerly based in Shanghai as a General Manager with Siemens.

David Lu has now joined Fosun as Managing Director of Marketing and Leasing for the Chinese investment conglomerate’s new logistics real estate investment fund. Lu, is now based in Fosun’s offices in Shanghai’s Huangpu district, after joining the company from state-run business park developer Shanghai Caohejing Hi-tech Park Development Corporation, where he had spent more than seven years in business development and marketing.

Henry BottHenry Bott is now responsible for business development for Swire Properties’ new Blueprint high tech development project in Hong Kong. Bott, who most recently spent one year doing development and valuation work for Swire in Hong Kong, also has experience as a retail leasing officer with Swire’s Taikoo Li project in Beijing’s Sanlitun area, and in office leasing with the company’s Indigo project in Beijing.

Peter PangPeter Pang has been promoted to Country Contract Manager with Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology graduate and chartered financial analyst moved up from the role of CRES Analyst with the bank just over a year after joining from Hysan Development Company, where he had experience in office and retail leasing for the Hong Kong listed developer.

Sylvia Yao has joined MCC Real Estate as Head of Strategy and Marketing for Commercial Assets, based in Beijing. Yao joins the real estate division of state-run conglomerate Metallurgical Group Corporation of China Limited after previously spending two years as a Senior Manager with Gemdale Properties and Investment. Yao who also has experience working for JLL, will be responsible for project planning and development strategy at MCC.

Cyrus Paw Cyrus Paw has joined Hong Kong-listed developer Fantasia Holdings Group Company Limited as Deputy General Manager for the company’s retail operations in Chengdu. Now based in the capital of Sichuan province, Paw will have responsibility for the company’s two new shopping malls, as part of its mixed-use development projects in Chengdu. Paw previously worked with Pramerica Real Estate Investors in Beijing, and also with Tesco Property as well as New World Development in Hong Kong.

Jasper Chang NikeJasper Chang has joined sports apparel brand Nike as Asia Pacific Real Estate Director, to be based in Shanghai. Chang, who most recently served for more than four years with the Global Corporate Services division of real estate services firm CBRE, also has prior experience with DTZ and JLL, as well as having spent more than one year working with serviced office provider MLS Business Centres in Shanghai.

Zack Lee Pacific CoffeeZack Lee is now Director of Business Development at Pacific Coffee Company Limited in Hong Kong. In his new role, Lee will be spearheading the business development team, with a focus on expanding the brand and business strategically in Hong Kong & overseas. Previously, Lee served as Leasing Director with Wing Tai Properties Investment Ltd, as well as with Winsor Properties in Hong Kong.

Kelly ZhaoKelly Zhao has now been promoted to Local Director with the project management department of Jones Lang Lasalle in Beijing. After being bumped up from her previous role of Associate Director, Zhao will take on responsibility for leading the project management team, as well as business development for the company. Zhao, who is a graduate of Dalian Jiaotong University, originally joined JLL in June 2005.

Andy Ding Genesis PropertyAndy Ding has joined Genesis Property in Beijing as an Associate Director in the company’s Property Management division. Ding joins Genesis after spending nine months as an engineering manager with Dalian Wanda Group, the property development firm belonging to China’s richest man, Wang Jianlin. Prior to joining Wanda, Ding had spent more than three years in facilities management with JLL, and four years with IKEA in Beijing.

Samuel Zhai JLLSamuel Zhai has been promoted to Local Director with the development consulting division of JLL in Shenzhen. Zhai, who originally joined the property services firm in 2008, most recently served as an Associate Director, and in his new role will have responsibility for feasibility studies, project positioning advice, and financial analysis for commercial and residential projects in southern China.
