Asia Real Estate People in the News 2020-04-20

In this week’s edition of People in the News, CBRE’s former managing director of asset services in Singapore has made the switch to London to head up the firm’s UK property management team, while Hong Kong’s Adamas Asset Management has promoted its managing director to chief investment officer.

In other moves around the region, private equity shop Elite Partners Capital has brought on board a London property specialist to be responsible for the firm’s UK portfolio, and CBRE in Hong Kong has promoted its executive director in occupier advisory and transaction services to managing director.

There were also fresh appointments and promotions at Savills, Goodman Group, Colliers International, and Cushman & Wakefield.

David Fogarty has been appointed as CBRE’s executive managing director of property management in the UK, relocating to London after four years as the firm’s managing director of asset services for Singapore and regional client director for APAC. Prior to that, Fogarty had served as regional director, Pacific for CBRE in Australia from 2011 to 2016, following over nine years as Knight Frank’s national director for investment property management in Australia between 2001 and 2010.

Brock Silvers

Brock Silvers has been promoted to chief investment officer of Adamas Asset Management in Hong Kong, stepping up after serving as managing director in charge of global marketing and investor relations since August last year. Prior to joining Adamas, Silvers had operated Shanghai-based private equity firm Kaiyuan Capital in Shanghai. Before setting up Kaiyuan, Silvers managed Asia-listed equity and China private equity funds in Hong Kong and Beijing as well as serving as CEO of Shanghai-based hospitality firm Laris Group.

Elite Partners Capital has hired James Tootell as head of asset management in the UK, as the Singapore-based firm nears the close of a €150 million UK and Europe-focused logistics fund. Based in London, Tootell is responsible for the firm’s UK assets including the portfolio of SGX-listed Elite Commercial REIT. Prior to joining Elite, Tootell served in various asset management roles at the UK’s Telereal Trillium for 16 years, most recently as asset management director from 2012 until 2019.

Paul Hubbard-Brown has been promoted to managing director at CBRE in Hong Kong, stepping up after just over four years as an executive director in the occupier advisory and transaction services team. Prior to that, Hubbard-Brown had served as a senior director from 2014 to 2016, after five years as a regional director in global workplace solutions from 2009 to 2014. Before joining CBRE in Hong Kong, the Queen Mary University of London graduate had served for nine years as an associate director in JLL’s London office.

Mark Elliott, Savills’ head of international residential in Hong Kong, has been appointed to the company’s Hong Kong senior management board. Elliott was hired by Savills to head up the international residential team in Hong Kong in January 2018, after parting ways with JLL where he had served as a director for eight and a half years. Prior to that, Elliott had served for close to three years as a sales negotiator and client services manager for property agency Foxtons in London between 2005 and 2007.

Alisdair Gillies has set up Greengate Advisors in Singapore, after parting ways with engineering and design firm Arcadis. Gillies had served for three years in Singapore as an executive director for the Dutch firm, following a year as a director in the Asia development and asset management division for Colliers from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, the Nottingham Trent University graduate had served as almost three years as an associate during a previous stint at Arcadis.

Anthony Liu has joined Aussie logistics developer Goodman Group in Hong Kong as head of technology and innovation for Asia, after parting ways with Swire Properties. Liu joins Goodman after nine years at the Hong Kong developer, most recently as new ventures lead from December 2016 to April 2020. The Cornell University graduate was part of the team which led UrbanLab Accelerator, a Shanghai-based proptech programme co-founded by JLL, Swire Properties, and Ping An Group launched in July 2019.

Valerie Chan has been promoted to senior manager at Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong, stepping up to her new position after a year and a half as an assistant manager for the property consultancy. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, the graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University had served as a senior valuer for Knight Frank between 2015 and 2017.
