This week Asia’s community of commercial real estate professionals sees a global investment firm importing talent from Germany to build up its Singapore office, a US private equity firm bringing on a logistics real estate specialist in Shanghai, and a major agency building up its Nanjing office. Carsten Kebbedies has moved to Singapore to take on the role of Head of Business Development, Asia Pacific with TIAA Henderson Real Estate. Kebbedies will be developing and implementing products for the global investment firm in Asia after spending the last eight years with TIAA Henderson’s Frankfurt office. The graduate of the University of Hull also has experience with KPMG in Germany.
Jun Chen has joined Prax Capital as a Vice President based in Shanghai. Chen joins the US-based, China-focused private equity firm after spending one year as a director at specialist logistics real estate advisory firm Chaintouch Investment. The Fudan University graduate also spent four and a half years with JLL in Shanghai, serving most recently as a manager with the real estate consultancy’s industrial services team.
Richard (Meng) Wang has moved to Nanjing to take on the role of Head of Strategic Consulting with JLL in the capital of eastern China’s Jiangsu province. The new position for Wang comes after the Fudan graduate spent the last five years with JLL’s consulting team in Shanghai, where he served most recently as a Senior Manager with the company’s real estate development and investment consultancy team.
Jacky Yu has joined Midland IC&I Ltd in Hong Kong as an Account Director with the publicly listed company’s Commercial Investment department. Yu comes to the Hong Kong-based commercial real estate agency from US-based competitor CBRE, where he had spent more than three years with the company’s Investment Properties division, serving most recently as a Manager, based in Hong Kong.
Tom ZHONG Xin Cheng has been promoted to Senior Officer with the Office Leasing team at China Xintiandi, based in Shanghai. The East China Normal University graduate is now in charge of leasing and pre-leasing of the office portfolio of Shui On Land‘s Taipingqiao Project, including Shui On Plaza and the Corporate Avenue projects. Zhong has now spent three years with China Xintiandi and its parent, Shui On Land, after joining Shui On as a graduate trainee in 2012.
Yen Xie has been promoted to Senior Analyst with the research department at Cushman & Wakefield in Guangzhou. Xie’s latest step up comes just two years after the Qingdao University of Science and Technology graduate joined the real estate consultancy from HR firm Mercer. During her time at Cushman & Wakefield, Xie has worked on projects in Shanghai, Xiamen, and Changsha, as well as covering the office and retail markets in southern China.
