This week’s list of familiar faces in new places starts with a former Shanghai-hand making a brand new start of it in New York, and also finds a pair of LSE graduates landing new real estate finance roles in the region. And, of course, WeWork keeps adding to its team in the region. Read on for all the details on who got the job that you always wanted.
Sara Gougarty, formerly based in Shanghai with Cushman & Wakefield, has been promoted to Managing Director with the company’s US operation, according to an announcement by the property consultancy. In her new role, Gougarty will be based in New York, taking responsibility for leading current practice groups and growing new ones in the company’s Americas platform. The former retail specialist will be reporting to Todd Schwartz, Chief Operations Officer for the Americas with C&W.
Kiros Li has joined Hong Kong and Shanghai Land Capital as an Investment Manager, based in Shanghai. In his new role the London School of Economics graduate will be focusing on value-add office opportunities in Shanghai, including project underwriting and financial modeling. Prior to joining the property fund manager subsidiary of Hong Kong Shanghai Alliance Holdings, Li had spent just over one year as an Investment Manager with Ping An Trust, and also has experience with Knight Frank.
Francesco Mussita has joined Intercontinental Hotels Group in Singapore as a member of the hospitality giant’s Global Corporate Finance team. In his new role with the parent company of the Intercontinental, Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn hotel brands, Mussita will be specialising in mergers and acquisitions. The London School of Economics graduate has relocated from the UK to Singapore for the role, having previously served with private equity investment firm Colony Capital in London.
Eva Lee has joined Knight Frank in Shanghai as the property consultancy’s Marketing and Communications Director for China. Lee joins the Knight Frank team after previously serving as Marketing and Communications Director with Colliers International, where she was based in Shanghai, with responsibility for eastern and southwestern China. The Knight Frank role is a homecoming for Lee who previously worked with the company as a manager, before joining Colliers in 2014.
Lulu Yang has joined China Resources Land as a Deputy Manager with the Hong Kong-listed real estate developer. Based in Shenzhen, Yang is now specialising in capital analysis for the state-run giant, after spending more than two years as an assistant manager in the Alternative Investment department with Ping An Trust. The graduate of the Master’s in Real Estate program at Hong Kong University also has experience with the former DTZ (now part of Cushman & Wakefield) and CBRE.
William Kwok has joined WeWork as a Facilities Manager, based in Hong Kong. Kwok signed up with the shared office unicorn after just under two years with Prudential Hong Kong, where he served as a Senior Manager. The graduate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University also has previous experience as a Senior Operations Manager with the Facilities Management division of Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong, as well as with JLL.
