2017/07/30 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

In this week’s list of familiar faces in new places, a long-time Shanghai veteran has decided to give another try at leaving the mainland’s business powerhouse – opting this time for Hong Kong. Back in the steamy Pearl of the Orient, a new commercial hub on Nanjing Road continues to attract talent, while a state-run developer picks up a new manager from a giant in the world of warehouses. Read on for all the news on who’s trying out new office furniture this week.

sam crispinSam Crispin has relocated to Hong Kong to take charge of the newly opened office of Advanced Business Park in the city. Crispin presided over the opening of the business park developer’s new office in the Center on Queen’s Road earlier this month as the company begins marketing its £1.7 billion redevelopment of London’s Royal Albert Docks to companies in the region. Prior to this latest move, Crispin served as Director of PwC’s Urbanisation team in Shanghai (apart from a brief respite in the UK a few years back).

cheng zhouCheng Zhou has joined Tian An China Investments in Shanghai as a General Manager with the company’s international division. Zhou takes on his role with the Hong Kong-listed real estate developer and manager after more than six years with Grand River Investments. The CFA-qualified graduate of the University of Aberdeen also has previous experience with Shanghai-based developer Forte Land and its sister firm, Fosun Real Estate Holdings.

amy hsien HKRI Taikoo HuiAmy Hsien is now Assistant Director for Portfolio Management with HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai. Hsien joins the joint venture project between developers HKRI and Swire Properties after a year and a half with asset manager Pradera Retail Asia in Shanghai, where she had served as Assistant Director of Portfolio Leasing. The University of Birmingham graduate also has previous experience with Shui On Land and Nan Fung.

patrick stevensPatrick Stevens has joined wellness chain Pure Group as Regional Real Estate Manager, based in Hong Kong. Stevens signed up with the Hong Kong-based gym and fitness provider after more than three years with CBRE in the city, where he started his stint in research, before moving into commercial brokerage. The Victoria University of Wellington graduate also has previous experience with Churchouse publishing, where he served as a research analyst.

shane zhangShane Zhang has joined China Resources Land where he now works in investment management based in Shanghai. Zhang comes to the state-owned developer from warehouse specialist Global Logistic Properties, where he had spent more than two years with the company’s business development team. The graduate of the UK’s University of Reading also has previous experience with Ping An and Frasers Centrepoint.

athena chengAthena Cheng has joined Wharf Estates in Hong Kong as a member of the leasing team with the listed commercial developer. The graduate of Copenhagen Business School in Denmark came to Wharf from local competitor Cheung Kong Properties, where she had spent more than two years with the company’s Development and Marketing team and had also contributed to the Li Ka-shing controlled developer’s China Retail group.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
