With singer/songwriter Bob Dylan winning a Noble Peace prize last week, it seems only fitting to note how the times they are a changin’ for Deutsche Bank who appointed a new Head of Wealth Management for Asia after a key figure defected to UBS while more moves are also afoot at CBRE and Colliers. Keep reading to be serenaded with all of this week’s news.
Cheng Jiuzhou was named Executive Director at Yuexiu Real Estate Investment Trust. He has spent eight years with the firm, most recently serving as Deputy CEO. Cheng was also appointed to the Hong Kong-listed developer’s board. Prior to joining Yuexiu REIT, Cheng worked at Guangzhou City Construction & Development, and he now has over 20 years of experience in real estate, in addition to being a China Registered Property Valuer and Property Manager. Earlier this year the developer opened a retail podium in its Guangzhou IFC complex and announced plans to upgrade shopping centers at its other mixed-use developments.
Virginia Huang will be taking on the newly created Managing Director, Head of Advisory & Transaction Services (A&T) for Greater China role at CBRE as the firm continues to restructure its operations in China. She will report to President of North Asia and CEO of Greater China Ben Duncan. The new position will offer Huang oversight of the occupier and investor leasing businesses across all sectors and markets throughout the country.
Jonathan Wright was appointed Associate Director – Regional Tenant Representation at Colliers International. He will be based in Hong Kong. In his new role he will work with clients to ensure delivery of real estate services. He joined Colliers’ Hong Kong office in June of 2015 as Associate Director of Office Services. Prior to that, he had an eight year stint in Qatar working as Head of Agency for the Middle East at DTZ | Cushman & Wakefield.
Matt Du is now Senior Administrative Manager at Harvest Fund Management. He will work in the firm’s property management division. Before moving to Harvest Fund Management, he spent four years at JLL in Beijing starting as Senior Facilities Engineer before being promoted to Facilities Manager. In September, Harvest Fund Management’s investment arm, Harvest Global Investments, hired Ashley Dale as chief business development officer and chief marketing officer to help expand its international efforts.
Nicole Zhao has left CBRE after a four-year tenure serving as Office Services Manager in Hangzhou. She also spent a year with Savills working as an Analyst and BD Officer after graduating from the University College of London with a master’s degree in urban regeneration. Zhao also has an architecture background having earned her bachelor’s degree in the field at Zhejiang University of Technology. Zhao will remain in Hangzhou focusing on her own business where she is co-founder and deputy GM.
