It’s Monday here in Rightsiteville, and although startups don’t really have days off, we still mark this as the start of a new week. This means meeting with the team to look at the list of projects for the week, and try to figure out what we can get done. Of course, right now the team is just my assistant Winni, and myself, so these management meetings are blissfully short.
Big agenda items for the week of March 24
- Continue pouring lists of industrial zones into the database — we are over 400 industrial zones now, and are aiming for 1000
- Recruit an accountant — we need someone to help us more clearly chart that burn rate
- Recruit two interns — more bodies needed for all that data entry
- Finalise the deal with the web development vendor — after a two month search, Mike has decided upon a company to build the website. Now we just need to get that contract done
- Start searching for an office — we will be moving into an office (and getting out of my living room) on July 1. Although that seems a long time off now, we had better start searching soon if we want to find a good deal
- Try out our new CRM module — we had a custom module built for our SugarCRM system (www.sugarcrm.com) that should better allow us to organise our industrial zone data. This week is testing week for this little software project
Besides these projects, we’ll be working on developing a more detailed version of the Rightsite marketing plan. More ways to make ourselves famous. On a marketing related note, received a message this weekend that our Rightsite.asia domain name had finally been approved and would be available for use on March 26th. The .asia domain is a new domain that only becomes operational this month and the administrators allowed chumps such as us to register starting last year if we had our minds set on some very special domain name. Rightsite.asia — just sounds good to me.
Will fill you in on the details of some of these projects as the week progresses. Until then, enjoy your busy life in Shanghai.
