Today we are wrapping up September, which means it’s time to get ready for one of China’s biggest holidays of the year, the National Day celebration, which starts on October 1st.
The People’s Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949, with a ceremony at Tiananmen Square, so on the mainland, this means that we office denizens will enjoy one of the week-long Golden Week holidays, with most companies closing down from October 1, and then re-opening again on Saturday, October 8th.
In Hong Kong, where we have to work harder to pay for all that pricey space in Central, offices will only be shutting down on Monday, so folks will enjoy a three-day weekend.
For Mingtiandi, we will take a break from our newsletter on Monday, but you can expect to see our regular updates for the rest of the week, as we work through the holiday to make sure you stay up to date on all that’s happening in Asia’s real estate world.
If you are one of the lucky folks taking a few days off, be sure to enjoy and watch out for those group tourists if you venture to any holiday destinations.
