With China’s real estate market continuing to dominate the headlines across Asia and globally, the opportunities created by the current market turmoil will be a major topic at a regional real estate investment conference in Singapore this week.
Real Estate Investment World Asia will be held in the southeast Asian island state starting on Tuesday the 24th, and will bring together more than 400 senior level executives real estate investment and advisory firms across the region. In its 13th edition, the event will be keynoted by talks from Forbes publisher Rich Karlgaard, APCO Worldwide Chairman James McGregor and former Japanese minister of finance, Dr. Eisuke Sakakibara.
Mingtiandi to Lead Panel on China Real Estate Opportunities
I’ll be playing a supporting role in the event, leading a panel discussion on China’s long-term investment outlook. Joining me on stage will be four of Greater China’s most senior investment executives, Managing Director & Country Manager for Greater China at CBRE Global Investors, Richard van den Berg; Managing Director of Investment – Greater China for Grosvenor Asia Pacific, Mr. Yang Yu; Senior Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate Group for CITIC Capital Holdings Limited, Stanley Ching; and China Resources Capital Management’s Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Charade Poon.
Together, these four panelists represent decades of experience investing billions of dollars into China’s real estate markets. CBRE Global investors has just conducted a first close on a new US$470 million fund for investment into China, Yang Yu has handled over US$ 1.5 billion of real estate transactions in the region, Stanley Ching’s funds at CITIC have put more than US$2.9 billion into China’s property sector since 2005, and China Resources’ private equity investments in China real estate amount to more than US$2 billion.
