The MIPIM Asia Property Leaders Summit, one of the largest real estate trade shows in the region, returns to Hong Kong next week, and Mingtiandi will be there once again to both trade ideas with industry leaders on stage, and to report back to our readers about the discussions taking place at this widely attended event.
At the two day event, which will be attended by representatives of more than 450 companies, Mingtiandi’s Michael Cole will speak as part of a panel on new developments in Asia’s shopping centre industry, as well as leading a lunch discussion on trends in outbound investment.
Find Out More About Asia’s Retail Future and Next Year’s Outbound Hotspots
Starting on the morning of Tuesday, December 1st, the MIPIM Asia event, which is an extension of the popular MIPIM event held annually in Cannes, France, will roll through a series of key-note addresses and panel discussion exploring topics on real estate investment, design and development.
The topic for Mingtiandi’s retail panel will be “New Mall Developments in Asia Pacific,” and for the discussion, Michael will be joined by Simon Chua of architectural firm Lead 8, Chris Lanksbury of design practice Chapman Taylor, and Maxime Pruvost of retail consultancy Bee Retail. The session will be moderated by Erica Ng of retail industry journal WGSN.
The panel will discuss how developers are coping with economic headwinds this year, and which retail leasing strategies are proving most productive in driving traffic and turnover.
During the lunch session on the event’s second day, Mingtiandi will lead a discussion on Chinese outbound investment, focussing on which cities and countries are most likely to see an increase in acquisitions by mainland investors in 2016.
Who Will Be There
Companies registered to send attendees to the event this year include ARA Asset Management, Anbang Insurance Group, APG Asset Management, Benoy, Brookfield Asset Management, Cheung Kong Property Holdings, China Vanke, and CPPIB. And that’s just the A’s, B’s and C’s.
