Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services company, announced today that its Managing Director for Eastern China, Jonathan Davis has been promoted to Managing Director of China.
The veteran real estate executive originally joined the firm in November of last year, and has rapidly put together a new team to help the US-based firm compete in China’s growing market for real estate services.
Based in the company’s Shanghai office, Davis will be responsible for providing leadership to Cushman & Wakefield’s mainland China operations, and is tasked with enhancing service delivery to clients and building up recognition of the Cushman & Wakefield brand.
Commenting on Davis’ promotion, Sanjay Verma, CEO of Asia Pacific for Cushman & Wakefield said, “This appointment builds on C&W’s strategy to strengthen our position in key markets across the region and to continue to grow our platform. Jonathan has proved to be a great asset to the firm and I am confident that he would continue to demonstrate leadership that reflects our core values and strategic approach in a market that is high priority for us, globally.”
A native of the UK, Davis holds a Bachelor Degree from the University of Gloucestershire, and has a 13 year track record in the Greater China real estate industry, including stints with Morgan Stanley, Sun Hung Kai Properties and CBRE.
Since Davis joined last year, the company has brought on a number of senior executives from other real estate firms, including a new head of human resources for China, a new executive director for research in Greater China, and new directors for its office and retail teams.
