Even a few days after the latest measures to cool China’s property market were introduced, the direction of real estate prices was still making news this week, as Premier Wen Jiabao addressed the topic in his Spring Festival speech.
Premier Wen reiterated the government’s commitment to bringing prices down and assuring affordable housing.
Then the article quoted some guy named Michael Cole saying it wasn’t going to happen. More details in the Bloomberg article here.
I just hope the Premier doesn’t think I was dissing his speech — it was all part of a press release — honest!
