Asia Real Estate People in the News 2018-12-03

There are still a few more weeks remaining before Christmas, but some of Asia’s luckiest property people have already received the new roles they always wanted. GLP has brought on board a pair of retired seniors to help juice up its governance, while a 24-year research veteran is getting an early start on the holiday season. Read on for all the details on who got the job that you always wanted.

seek ngee huatCPPIB senior advisor Graeme Eadie and former Global Logistic Properties chairman Dr Seek Ngee Huat have joined a fund management board formed by the warehouse developer, as directors of the advisory body. Eadie, who spent 13 years in various senior positions including as Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Real Assets with CPPIB until March 2018, will join with Seek and economist Dr Richard Levin in the board which is said to have been formed to enhance GLP’s governance and risk management infrastructure, according to a statement from GLP.

nick axfordCBRE Global Head of Research Nick Axford left the property agency at the end of last month, announcing his departure in a LinkedIn post after 24 years with the company. Axford, who served as CBRE’s Asia Pacific Head of Research from 2010 through 2014 did not specify his next employment destination, and now lists his job title as real estate market analyst, consultant and commentator.

paul wongHong Kong-based design firm LWK & Partners announced last week that Paul Wong had joined the firm as Director of Landscape Design. The former Director at Gravity Green joins LWK as the firm seeks to enhance its capabilities in designing public spaces. Wong, who joined LWK last month is already involved in an ecological tourism project in Chengdu, a residential project in Guangzhou, and a leisure and recreation project in Hong Kong, according to a statement from the company.

chris mihatovChris Mihatov has been promoted to Director with the Office Markets division at JLL in Hong Kong, where he is part of the tenant representation team. Mihatov takes his step up at the property consultancy after more than four years on the office leasing beat in Hong Kong. The University of Queensland graduate relocated to Hong Kong from Brisbane in 2014 after starting with JLL in Australia in 2012.

may ngMay Ng has been promoted to Senior Manager with JLL in Hong Kong, where she is part of the team covering the Kowloon market. Ng was awarded her new rank with the property consultancy after four and a half years as a Manager. The graduate of Hong Kong’s Lingnan University also has previous experience with Prime Property Consultants in Hong Kong and even worked at Disney World.
