Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-12-26

Santa has finished making his Christmas rounds, but apparently not before bringing some new roles to the good boys and girls of Asia’s real estate industry. Over the holiday season asset management major BlackRock introduced its new head of Southeast Asia, two of the region’s most active co-working players grabbed new senior executives from the agency world, and there are many more moves, if you just keep reading.

Deborah Ho BlackRockBlackRock has appointed former Barclays Bank executive Deborah Ho as its new head of Southeast Asia based in Singapore, effective from March 2018. Ho joins the asset management giant after more than five years with Barclays in the city, and had previously served as chief executive of DBS Asset Management in Singapore from 2007 through 2011, according to a statement from BlackRock. Ho also has prior experience with UBS.

Emily Gray CBREEmily Gray has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as a Senior Director with the real estate agency. Gray started work with the green team this month after more than two years leading Cushman & Wakefield’s APAC Transaction Management team in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and India as an Executive Director. The University of Exeter graduate had spent more than 11 years with C&W in both Hong Kong and the UK before joining her new team.

Michael Higgins naked HubMichael Higgins has joined naked Hub in Hong Kong as Head of Enterprise Solutions with the flexible office startup. Higgins is charged with helping the Shanghai-based co-working player grow its business with corporate tenants and joins the naked team after more than five years as a Director with the Global Occupier Services team at Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong. Higgins also has previous experience with Servcorp and Savills in the city.

Mason Liu YichaoMason Liu Yichao has joined WeWork in Shanghai as Director of Real Estate Transactions for China. Liu signed up with the co-working titan after two and a half years with CapitaLand in Shanghai, where he was a Manager in charge of retail leasing at the Singaporean company’s Raffles City Changning project. The Shanghai International Studies Institute graduate also has prior experience with Forterra Trust and its ill-fated predecessor Treasury Holdings China, as well as having served with Savills.

Raymond Wong Raymond Wong has joined Albert So Surveyors in Hong Kong as an Estate Surveyor. Wong joined the Kowloon-based private firm after more than four years with the city’s Urban Renewal Authority (URA) where he served most recently as a Senior Officer. The Education University of Hong Kong graduate also has previous experience as an Assistant Surveyor/ Leasing Officer at Landwide Property Management and with Multiple Surveyors Limited in the city.
