JLL Chooses Chae Hun Chang as New Country Head for South Korea

Chae Hun Chang has been promoted to Country Head after joining JLL in 2000

International property consultancy JLL has chosen Chae Hun Chang as the company’s new Country Head for South Korea, according to an announcement late last week by the company.

Chang will be promoted to the lead role effective January 1st, 2018, from his present role as Head of Property and Asset Management for South Korea with JLL, where he concurrently serves as part of the company’s Capital Markets team.

“South Korea continues to be one of our key growth markets in Asia and we are excited to be strengthening our leadership team by appointing someone of Chae Hun’s calibre and experience to drive the next generation of our growth strategy,” JLL’s Asia Pacific COO, Albert Ovidi commented in a statement.

JLL Veterans Switch Roles

JLL indicated that Chang’s promotion was “aimed at reinforcing its commitment to this key growth market.” The 23-year real estate industry veteran has been with JLL since 2000, where he has moved up the corporate ladder through a series of roles with both the property consultancy and its property investment affiliate, LaSalle Investment Management, including spending four years with JLL in New York.

To make way for Chang’s ascension, JLL’s current Country Head, Steven Craig, will relinquish the company’s top seat after seven years, while retaining his role as the head of Capital Markets for South Korea for the company.

“We very much appreciate Steven’s decision to give his full attention to our Capital Markets business, which is a priority for the firm. JLL has experienced great success in South Korea under Steven’s leadership, and we would like to thank him for his unwavering focus on our clients and our people,” Chang commented.

Chang holds a master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
