Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-05-08

This week new roles for Asia’s real estate professionals are led by a pair of C-suite moves at listed developers in Hong Kong and Singapore. Also finding new homes early in the year’s fifth month are a budding investment broker and many more. Read on for all the details.

Ye Fei has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer with Tai United Holdings, based in Hong Kong. Ye’s new role at the Hong Kong-listed manufacturer and investor comes following the resignation of Chen Weisong, and is a step up from Ye’s former duties as a senior vice president of the firm. Ye, who also is an executive director of the company, had served in his former role since October of last year. In 2016 Tai United revealed a plan to form a UK real estate platform, and agreed to purchase an office building in London for £103.5 million.

Kam Tin Seah has joined Singaporean property investment firm Pacific Star Development as COO, according to a recent announcement by the Catalist-listed firm. Seah, who has more than 26 years of experience in the property sector, previously worked for three other Singapore-listed builders – Parkway Holdings, Centrepoint Properties and UOL Group. Formerly serving as senior general manager for investment and strategic development at UOL, Seah will report to Pacific Star CEO and managing director Glen Chan in his new role.

virginia changVirginia Chang has been promoted to Executive Director at Ping An Real Estate, based in Shanghai. Chang, who leads a staff of 16 people, according to her profile, heads up Ping An’s Real Estate research team, after joining the property division of the Chinese insurance giant in 2013. The graduate of Shanghai International Studies University also has previous experience on the CREIS team at JLL in Shanghai.

Duke shiZiyuan (Duke) Shi has joined Haitong International Asset Management in Hong Kong as an analyst with the mainland asset management heavyweight. Shi, who holds degrees from Shandong University in Jinan, as well as from Shanghai’s Fudan University, signed up with Haitong after just over one year with Ping An Real Estate. Shi also has experience with listed developer Franshion Properties, where he served as a Strategy Specialist.

arnold chuArnold Chu has joined the Millennium Group in Hong Kong as Investment Manager in the real estate advisory firm’s capital markets division. Chu, who formerly served with CBRE and worked most recently as an assistant manager with the investment sales team at Savills, will be advising on transactions involving outbound Asian capital, according to an announcement from his new employer. The University of Hong Kong graduate also has previous experience with Sun Hung Kai Properties and the Rating and Valuation Department of the Hong Kong government.

sofy rahmanSofy Rahman has been promoted to Senior Marketing Executive with flexible office startup JustCo in Singapore. Rahman was promoted to her new role after just eight months as a Senior Administration Executive with the co-working division of Singapore’s JustOffice, where she has worked in the firm’s Robinson Road centre. The graduate of Singapore’s Temasek Polytechnic also has experience with Qatar Airways and formerly operated a creative agency in Singapore.
