Some of the leading players in Asia Pacific real estate investment are coming together next week to share their insights on logistics strategies in the region as part of Mingtiandi’s Asia Logistics Real Estate Forum.

Among the executives joining the session at 10am Hong Kong time on 6 July will be major investment managers Rushabh Desai, chief executive for Asia Pacific at Allianz Real Estate, and Suchad Chiaranussati, chairman and founder of Singapore’s SC Capital.

Also contributing their expertise will be JLL capital markets chief executive Stuart Crow and Lance Li, chief executive of Vietnam’s BW Industrial, as the group of industry veterans explores where the region’s core markets are headed in 2021.

With logistics real estate continuing to be among the most competitive areas for property investment, the group will be comparing investment returns for projects in core markets around the region, including China, Japan, Korea and Australia. Also on the slate is the outlook for developing core strategies in locations throughout Asia Pacific.

Major Players

During the one-hour session, which is sponsored by Yardi, the audience will have an opportunity to hear what Allianz Real Estate has learned after investing in logistics projects in China, Japan, India and other markets around the region, with Chiaranussati’s SC Capital having also established warehouse investments in China and Japan, as well as in Australia and South Korea.

With more than 20 years of experience managing logistics projects in Greater China and Southeast Asia, BW Industrial’s Li will be sharing the outlook for the sector from Vietnam, while JLL’s Stuart Crow will provide insights on where institutional capital is headed around the region, from his vantage point advising some of the world’s largest investors.

The discussion will be carried live on Mingtiandi’s MTD TV video platform, with audience members invited to contribute their own questions via an interactive Q&A system.

Development Strategies to Follow

The core strategies panel is the third session in Mingtiandi’s logistics forum, following earlier interviews with Logos Property and Ivanhoe Cambridge and with BW Industrial vice president Dongwon Kwak.

The series will continue on Tuesday 13 July with a panel discussion on development strategies around Asia Pacific featuring Logos head of strategic customers Peter Garrison, BW Industrial director Michael Chan, JLL capital markets director Priyank Shah, and Jai Mirpuri of ESR.

The forum will conclude on 21 July with a panel dedicated to logistics and e-commerce in mainland China, which will include Victor Mok, chairman and chief executive of GLP’s asset management platform in China, Cushman & Wakefield head of investors services for Asia Pacific Dennis Yeo, and ESR China chief operating officer Zhou Bo.

Sustainability and Data Centres

Following the logistics forum, MTD TV will be back on 3 August with the first session in our Asia Sustainable Real Estate Forum, which will include sessions on sustainability, wellness and the competition for tenants, as well as a panel on green finance for real estate.

On 31 August, we will begin our APAC Data Centre Forum, with events following later in the year on office strategies and proptech. For the full calendar of MTD TV events, please click here.
