Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-02-26

2017/02/27 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

The big trend in real estate jobs this year seems to be real estate professionals finding new homes in the co-working world, as yet another agency veteran signs up with a shared office provider. Also this week, a former mainland government official resigns from the leadership of a top Hong Kong developer, and a major agency finds a new head for its capital markets team. Read on for all the details.

Chen_GuanzhanChen Guanzhan is retiring from his role as an executive director and joint general manager with Hong Kong-listed New World Development, according to a recent announcement to the stock exchange. Chen will stay on as a non-executive director of the developer as the company reorganises its senior leadership, including the promotion of scion Adrian Cheng Chi-Kong to Vice Chairman. Chen had been a member of New World’s board since 2012, after joined the company as a general manager in 2011. Prior to becoming part of the developer’s leadership, the long-term Guangzhou city government official had taught at South China University of Technology in Guangzhou.

linday liuLindsay Liu has joined WeWork as Enterprise Sales Director for Asia and Australia, based in Shanghai. Liu joins the US co-working giant as one of a number of new hires as WeWork seeks to build out its team in the region. Prior to signing up with the US unicorn, the graduate of Fujian Normal University had spent five years with real estate agency CBRE in Shenzhen, where she served most recently as Director of Business Development.

dominic hoDominic Ho is making a repeat engagement with CBRE, having recently taken on the role of Executive Director and Head of Capital Markets for Eastern China with the property service provider. Ho’s new position in Shanghai comes just over three years after the long-term investment broker had left his role as a Senior Director with CBRE to become National Director for JLL’s China Capital Markets team. At CBRE, Ho will be familiar with his new boss, Alan Li, who became head of capital markets for China with CBRE in late 2015 after heading the investment team at JLL in Shanghai. Ho also has experience in China real estate investment with DTZ.

heidi liHeidi Li has joined CapitaLand in Shanghai as an Assistant Manager. Li joins the Singaporean development giant after spending less than a year as a manager with Shanghai Shangdou Commercial Assets Management Co. The graduate of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law also has six years experience with international property consultancy Colliers International, where she joined as an intern in 2010, before leaving as a manager last year.

floria fuFloria Fu is now Associate Director for Talent Acquisition at Fosun Property in Shanghai. Fu joins the property development arm of the Shanghai-based investment conglomerate after more than three years as a recruiter, first with agency Talent2 and then its successor Aerotek, where she served most recently as a Manager with responsibility for property and construction hires. The graduate of Tongji University also has experience as a Marketing Manager with ground-breaking industrial real estate platform RightSite.asia.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
