Asia Real Estate People in the News 2016-12-27

2016/12/27 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Maybe most of Asia’s real estate community were naughty instead of nice in 2016, but whatever the reason, only a few of the region’s property professionals are ending the year with a new job. At the top of the list is a former APAC CEO for a major agency taking on a top level role at CBRE GI. We also finish up 2016 with a commercial leasing veteran getting a bump up at Hang Lung, and more familiar faces showing up at co-working providers. Read on for all the details.

Danny Queenan CBREDanny Queenan has been promoted to President of CBRE Global Investors – the latest in a rapid series of upward moves for the former CBRE Asia Pacific CEO. Queenan, who was based in CBRE’s Hong Kong office until being chosen as COO of CBRE GI in August 2015 will now have executive responsibility for the real estate investment firm’s regional businesses with the leaders of the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific reporting directly to him. T Ritson Ferguson was named CEO of CBRE GI in March of this year.

Daniel TingDaniel Ting is now a Deputy General Manager with China Real Estate Corporation Limited, a Chongqing-based commercial real estate company listed on the Shenzhen stock exchange. Ting has relocated to Beijing for his new role, where he will help CREC to supervise some of its 700,000 square meters of commercial projects across China. Before joining CREC, Ting was a partner in LLE Consultants, a Shanghai-based advisory firm.

Cruise ChenCruise Chen has been promoted to the role of Senior Manager at Hang Lung Properties. The long time leasing specialist takes his latest step after spending more than three years as a Leasing Manager with the Hong Kong-based real estate developer. In his new role, Chen will continue to focus on office leasing and management for Hang Lung, which has developed a series of retail-anchored commercial project across China, including the Plaza 66 complex on Shanghai’s Nanjing Road.

Anson TongAnson Tong has joined co-working startup WE+ as a Project General Manager with the mainland shared office provider, based in Shanghai. Although having only recently come on board at WE+, Tong is already a co-working veteran, after having served as Sales and Marketing Director with shared office startup LinkPlace, a company which he co-founded in China more than one year ago. Tong is also the founder of Universal Realty of Hong Kong.

Jacky LiJacky Li has joined DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield in Chengdu as a Senior Manager, after spending two years with local real estate developer, Leading Group, as a Manager. This new role is actually a return engagement for Li at DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield, with the graduate of the University of Science and Technology Beijing having previously spent two years with the pre-merger Cushman & Wakefield from 2011 to 2013.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
