Knight Frank has announced new titles for two stalwarts of the agency’s Greater China office in Hong Kong.

Alnwick Chan has been rechristened as managing director for professional services and Paul Hart is now managing director for commercial markets, the property consultancy said in a release.

Chan and Hart remain members of the Knight Frank Greater China executive board, overseeing business in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Close to the Land

A land advisory specialist, Chan continues to head up valuation and professional services at Knight Frank Hong Kong, his role since 1997. He is responsible for negotiating with the government in connection with land exchanges, lease modifications and premium assessments.

Chan’s brief includes offering consultations to clients on matters related to development potential, lease interpretation and approval of building plans, as well as providing litigation support in disputes requiring valuation advice.

Chan is a 1983 graduate of the University of Portsmouth and holds a bachelor’s degree in urban land administration.

Brokerage Mainstay

Hart continues to manage Knight Frank’s commercial agency operations in Hong Kong, overseeing the provision of leasing services within the office, retail and industrial sectors, as well as capital markets. He is also responsible for service delivery in Knight Frank’s Greater China outbound capital markets.

Based in Hong Kong for over 30 years, Hart was appointed an executive director in 2004. Before joining Knight Frank in 1997, he worked for the Airport Authority of Hong Kong and as a valuation surveyor at the Rating and Valuation Department, responsible for rating, stamp and estate duty valuations on behalf of the government.

Hart began his career in 1981 as a valuer in his native Australia.

Knight Frank also this month announced the appointment of Ryan Black as director and head of international residential sales for Greater China.

Black will lead Knight Frank’s international residential sales division in marketing residential developments in key gateway cities to Asia-based investors. He has been based in Hong Kong for the past seven years.

Before joining Knight Frank, Black worked for UK developer Hathway Capital Group developing its acquisition and sales strategy. During his time in Hong Kong, he has also worked at Cushman & Wakefield and managed developer Seven Capital’s APAC sales strategy.
