Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-05-23

This week China’s answer to AirBNB snatches talent away from the country’s richest man, while the commercial agencies continue to trade investment brokers. Also a major agency finds a new research head from within its own ranks and much more. Read on for all the details.

Hans Haohans-hao has joined Tujia.com as General Manager for the company’s Revenue Management Center, based in Beijing. Hao takes on his new role with the online housing rental platform, often called the AirBNB of China, after previously spending more than four years with Wang Jianlin’s Wanda Hotels an Resorts, most recently serving as Group Director of Revenue Management in the company’s Data Analysis and E-Commerce division. Hao also has previous experience with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels and the Starwood Hotel group.

Grant Ji, former head of China Capital Markets at Savills, has reportedly joined CBRE as the agency’s new head of its capital markets division for northern China.

james-shepherdJames Shepherd will take on the role of Head of Research for Greater China at property consultancy DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield as of June 10, 2016, after previously serving as Executive Director for Greater China on the company’s Global Consulting team. Shepherd, who will continue to be based in Shanghai, formerly served as Head of Research for Greater China at Cushman & Wakefield, before it was acquired by DTZ last year. The graduate of Southamption Solent University also previously ran the International Advisory team for Colliers International in eastern China and southwestern China for three years.

richard-leeRichard Lee has joined Citi Commercial in Singapore as Principal Consultant with the specialist commercial property agency. Lee, who specialises in downtown office space in Singapore, signed up with Citi Commercial after spending more than two years with DTZ in Singapore as a Senior Sales Manager. The graduate of Australia’s RMIT University also has previous experience with local Singaporean brokerage Corporate Visions.

chen-louChen Lou has joined Henry Cheng’s Chongbang Group in Shanghai as a Research Manager with the mixed-use developer. Lou takes on her new role after nearly four years with JLL in Shanghai, where she served most recently as a Senior Research Manager. Lou, who holds a master’s degree from the Fuqua School at Duke University in the US, specialises in researching the retail real estate markets in Shanghai and other cities in the Yangtze River Delta.

robin-fuRobin Fu has been promoted to Manager with Colliers International’s industrial services team, based in Shanghai. Fu, who specialises in industrial development consultancy previously spent just over a year with Colliers as an Assistant Manager, after joining from Savills in Chengdu in early 2015. The graduate of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu specialises in research on complex urban projects and regional development.

liyu-wangLiyu Wang has joined CapitaLand in Shanghai as an Assistant Manager. In her new role with the Singaporean real estate development powerhouse, Wang will be responsible for corporate planning, with particular attention to helping to set goals for the company’s regional offices. This new role follows on from the more than three years that the graduate of Tonji University in Shanghai and Arizona State University in the US spent doing sales strategy and planning with Savills.
