China Real Estate People in the News 2015-09-14

This week a big five agency continues to turn over its top management by bidding adieu to its senior guy for north Asia, a Kowloon office guy finds a new home, and an agency research catches on with a top US asset manager. Read on for all the details.

alan liuAlan Liu has left his position as Managing Director for North Asia at Colliers International as the real estate agency continues to shake up its senior management in the region. Liu, who was known for his hands-off management style, will continue to work in Colliers’ office until September 18th, according to an internal email seen by Mingtiandi. Liu had been in his position for more than five years, following an abbreviated stint with MGPA that ended in 2010. Colliers’ new APAC chief David Hand has yet to name a replacement for Liu and in the email attributed the outgoing executive’s departure to the company’s ongoing re-organisation and re-structuring.

terry shumTerry Shum has joined Knight Frank in Hong Kong as a Senior Director and Head of Kowloon Commercial Agency. The veteran office broker comes on board at the property consultancy from rival CBRE where he had served for two years as Executive Director and Head of Kowloon Office Services. The University of Hong Kong graduate also spent three years with JLL in Hong Kong in similar role.

jon hsuJonathan Hsu has joined US asset management giant Invesco as Associate Director for Asia Pacific Real Estate Research. The University of California, San Diego graduate comes to Invesco from CBRE where he had spent more than two years covering office, retail and industrial trends as a director with the agency’s research team. Hsu also has previous experience in research roles with Barclay’s Capital and UBS.

yuki liYuki Li has signed up with CBRE in Chengdu as a manager with the company’s industrial division. In her new role Li will lead CBRE’s industrial team in southwest China after spending the previous two years as a senior negotiator with competitor JLL. Li’s experience includes assisting clients with relocating manufacturing and warehouse facilities, business planning and factory construction advisory.

monica luMonica Lu has joined Swiss testing and certification firm Bureau Veritas as an International Business Development Manager based in Shanghai. Lu takes on her new role after four years with Truslink Engineering in Shanghai, where she had served as a business development manager with the locally based construction management firm. The graduate of Sichuan Normal University also has previous experience with Enjoy China.

stephan zhouStephan Zhou has joined Global Logistic Properties (GLP) in Shanghai as an Associate Business Development Manager. Zhou comes to the Singapore-based logistics developer from CBRE where he had spent three and a half years as a Senior Valuer with the company’s valuation department. The graduate of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou also has previous experience with DTZ in Hangzhou.
