George Anastasiou DWS

George Anastasiou, Head of Real Estate, Australia, DWS

George Anastasiou is responsible for the DWS direct real estate business in Australia including all Transactions, Development and Asset Management Initiatives. George joined DWS in 2022 and currently has over 17 years of industry experience sourcing and managing real estate opportunities.

Prior to joining, George worked at Mitsubishi Estate Global Partners Asia, a member of the Mitsubishi Estate Group, as the Head of Country Australia, where he helped establish and manage their Australian real estate business and portfolio. Prior to that, he was an Investment Manager at AMB Capital Partners, a family office investment vehicle where he was responsible for investing in Real Estate Globally and worked at Savills in the Capital Transactions and Cross Border Investments team. Earlier in his career George held roles at Centuria in the transactions team and at Deloitte in the Financial Services Department.

George holds a BBus in Finance & Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney and has a GradDipCA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

DWS has been investing in real estate assets for more than 50 years. As part of the Alternatives platform, the real estate business has nearly 350 employees in over 20 cities around the world and almost EUR 76 billion in global real estate assets under management (December 31, 2023). Providing a diverse range of strategies and solutions across the risk/return and geographic spectrums, we offer core, value-added and opportunistic real estate, real estate debt and real estate securities. The real estate investment business employs a disciplined investment approach and aims to deliver attractive long-term risk adjusted returns, preservation of capital and diversification to its investors, which include governments, corporations, insurance companies, endowments, retirement plans, and private clients worldwide.
