Don Tan, Managing Director, Fund Management, KaiLong
Mr. Tan joined KaiLong in 2014. As Managing Director of Fund Management, Mr. Tan is primarily responsible for the management of KaiLong’s offshore funds that focuses on value-added investments in Greater China (current FUM in excess of US$1.1 billion). Mr. Tan’s responsibilities include fund structuring, investor relations, and ongoing portfolio management. Mr Tan sits on the investment committee of the offshore funds, and is also the key person in launching and managing KaiLong’s business in London. He has over ten years of experience within the Real Estate Fund Management industry.
Prior to joining KaiLong, Mr. Tan was a Manager with Ascendas China focusing on Fund Management, Investment and Asset Management. During his time in Ascendas China, Mr. Tan was responsible in managing two real estate vehicles with US$500 million in commitments, that were fully deployed and subsequently liquidated. He was also directly involved in real estate transactions with a deal size of over RMB6.8 billion during his tenure in China.
Mr. Tan started his career as an executive in Asset Management at Allco REIT, a listed REIT in Singapore (subsequently renamed as Frasers Commercial Trust). He holds a Bachelor of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
