Mingtiandi Proptech Survey 2020 to Begin Next Week

2020/07/27 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Proptech forumCompanies across Asia Pacific have been faced with lockdowns, circuit breakers and travel bans this year which have quickly tested information and communication systems across industries as the COVID-19 pandemic deprived businesses of many of their traditional business tools.

Long sheltered from some of the pressures that had driven tech adoption in other industries, Asia Pacific’s real estate sector, has since the beginning of 2020 been force to test out new approaches, with property operators having been scrambling to better manage health and safety concerns for their tenants, while developers and fund managers strive to streamline their data gathering and reporting to obtain clearer indications of the impact of the developing crisis.

To help Asia Pacific’s real estate community gain first-hand knowledge of the influence of the coronavirus crisis on adoption of what is now commonly called proptech, Mingtiandi will be launching a survey of its more than 10,000 subscribers, regarding what technologies they are currently using, or planning to take up, to better equip themselves for the current challenge.

Building on 2017 Benchmarks

The Mingtiandi Proptech Survey 2020 will be conducted online starting on 4 August, and seeks to build on benchmarks established through our 2017 poll on the same issues of technology adoption.

The survey, which is sponsored by real estate investment and property management software provider Yardi Systems, will be asking Mingtiandi’s readers to document what changes they have made this year in response to the COVID-19 crisis, in addition to asking how their use of technology has changed since the 2017 survey.

The online poll will examine adoption of technology by owners and operators of office, retail, industrial and residential assets, and ask what factors are driving – or impeding – use of online or Internet-enabled management systems as property investors strive for certainty in uncertain times.

Report and Event to Explore Tech Wave

The results of the survey will be analysed and published in a report to be released later this year, which will be made available to all Mingtiandi subscribers.

The report will be launched at Mingtiandi’s Proptech Forum in November of this year – an online event to be webcast through the company’s industry leading MTD TV video platform.

More details on the event are available here, and companies interested in being associated with Asia Pacific’s tech wave can find out more about sponsoring the tech forum here.
