Asia Real Estate People in the News 2019-04-15

Brokers, facility managers and marketing folks lead Mingtiandi’s list of personnel changes in Asia’s real estate world this week as a Jardines Matheson Group veteran takes over responsibilities for the Hong Kong conglomerate’s web of Hong Kong retail shops and JLL appoints a Chengdu veteran to look after its western China industrial practice. There’s also a trio of professionals taking on new marketing roles, and much more in this week’s Asia Real Estate People in the News.

william yip dairy farmWilliam Yip is now Group Facilities Management Director with Dairy Farm Company Ltd, taking on the new role with the parent company of Jardines Matheson Group-controlled retailers Wellcome, Maxim’s and Cold Storage after spending six years with Jardines auto retailing unit Zung Fu. Yip also has previous experience with Hong Kong-based development heavyweights New World group and Henderson Land.

victor janssonVictor Jansson is now Head of Industrial for the West Hub region at JLL, joining the property consultancy after two years as Executive General Manager of Industrial Park with investment group Fosun. In his new duties, Jansson, who formerly served with industrial developer Yida China and with Chengdu’s Tianfu Software Park, is responsible for assisting clients with industrial and business park requirements in western China, as well as with advising on transactions nationwide.

samuel zheng cbreSamuel Zheng has been promoted to Associate Director with the Industrial team at CBRE in Shanghai where he moves up from his former role as a Senior Manager. Zheng has now spent more than three years with CBRE since joining in 2016 from competitor Cushman & Wakefield, and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology graduate also has previous experience with Colliers International in the city.

karen lauKaren Lau has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as an Associate Director with the Marketing and Communications department, where she focuses on the Greater Bay Area, including Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong province. Lau joins the property agency after more than six years with recruitment firm Heidrick and Struggles in the city, and the graduate of Edinburh Napier University also has previous experience with PR agency Edelman in both Shanghai and Hong Kong.

julian leung campfireJulian Leung is now Marketing Director with Hong Kong-based Campfire, taking a step up with the shared space startup after spending one year as a Product Director with the company. Campfire last year announced its first location outside of Hong Kong when it took a whole building on Cecil Street in Singapore, and also has plans for centres in the UK and other locations. Leung has been with the co-working specialist since shortly after graduating from University in 2015.

vickie zheng JLLVickie Zheng has joined JLL in Shanghai as a Marketing Manager for the East China region, according to an update to her LinkedIn profile. Zheng’s role at the property services giant marks a return to the industry for the former Knight Frank team member. Zheng had left the UK real estate agency’s Shanghai office in 2016 to further her education and now takes on her now role after pursuing a master’s degree in marketing communications at the University of Melbourne.
