2019/01/01 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

It’s a whole new year and some lucky members of Asia’s real estate community are ringing in 2019 with bigger desks and, with any luck, upgraded pay packets. In Hong Kong, one of the city’s largest real estate agencies has set up a succession plan for the family run business, and there are top level personnel changes at some of the biggest investment and design firms in the region. All the details on who has what job as we kick off 2019 await you below.

Victor Shih CentalineCentaline Property Agency has appointed Victor Shih, the son of Centaline’s 69-year-old founder and chairman, Shih Wing-ching, as the group’s vice chairman, effective January 1st. Meanwhile, Shih Wing-ching’s eldest daughter, Janet Shih, was appointed chairwoman of Centaline-owned Ricacorp Properties and also as chair of Centaline’s other subsidiaries, also effective January 1st.

sabrina li MacquarieSabrina Li has taken over the role of Head of Projects for Asia, at Macquarie Group in Hong Kong. Li takes on her new role with the Australian financial services giant after having previously worked as an Associate Director for property management firm Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions in Hong Kong, and has also worked at Cushman & Wakefield as a regional program manager in Hong Kong and as a senior project manager in Shanghai.

todd pilgreen genslerTodd Pilgreen has been promoted to the position of co-managing director for Gensler in Shanghai. He had also worked as studio director and design director in city for the US architecture firm, which has gained local renown for its twisty design of the Shanghai Tower supertall building in Lujiazui. Pilgreen, who holds a master’s degree in architecture from UCLA, has also worked at Retail Design Collaborative, tpod Studio and Jerde, all in Shanghai.

sophie liu Pacific CenturySophie Liu has joined Beijing Pacific Century Place as a director for Office and Retail Portfolio Management and Marketing with the 169,900 square metre complex. Liu joined the team at Pacific Century Place in November shortly after the project was acquired by a local fund affiliated with Lianjia for RMB 10.5 billion. The University of Manchester graduate has previous experience at Swire Properties and JLL in Beijing.

vivian liao JLLVivian Liao has been promoted to Director with the Transaction Management team at JLL in Singapore, according to an update on her LinkedIn profile, where she is now responsible for managing approximately three million square feet (279,000 square metres) of space for two multinational clients across the APAC region. This step up for Liao comes after the graduate of the Cass School at the University of London had spent two years as a Senior Manager with JLL’s Transaction Management team in the city.

winnie sze JustcoWinnie Sze is now an associate director of enterprise sales for Korea at Singapore-based co-working provider JustCo. The graduate of Seoul National University and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas was previously a manager for property consultancy Savills in Seoul for a period of four years, and before that worked as a sales executive for the Park Hyatt hotel in the South Korean capital.
