Maisy Ho Chiu-ha, an executive director of Hong Kong conglomerate Shun Tak Holdings and daughter of the late Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho, died on 12 April after a long battle with breast cancer.
“We regretfully share that our beloved sister Maisy Ho passed away peacefully on 12 April 2026, surrounded by family,” said a family statement jointly signed by her siblings Pansy Ho, Daisy Ho Chiu-fung, Josie Ho and Lawrence Ho Yau-lung.
Ho’s passing follows a recurrence of breast cancer, according to local media reports, which led to her hospitalisation prior to her death. To mark her passing, the websites of Shun Tak Holdings and its listed affiliates were temporarily converted to greyscale.
Shun Tak Holdings, founded by Stanley Ho and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, operates across property, transportation, hospitality and investment, with the Hong Kong-Macau ferry service among its most recognisable assets. Her death leaves a vacancy in the executive team at Shun Tak that the group has yet to fill. Shun Tak has not yet indicated who will assume those responsibilities.
Daughter of a Dynasty
Ho was the third daughter of Stanley Ho and his second wife, Lucina Laam King-ying. Born in 1966, she was one of 17 children Stanley Ho fathered across four marriages, a family whose various branches now control significant portions of Macau’s gaming industry and Hong Kong’s property sector. Her father died in May 2020 at the age of 98. In 2019, Bloomberg ranked the Ho family 17th on its list of Asia’s 20 richest families, with combined wealth of $14.9 billion.

Ho graduated from Pepperdine University in the United States with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and psychology before joining Shun Tak in 1996. She was appointed as an executive director on the company’s board from 2001, overseeing the strategic planning and operations of the group’s property management and retail divisions, according to the company’s 2024 annual report.
Over nearly three decades with the group, Ho was involved in property developments including the One Central joint venture with Hongkong Land in Macau and the Hengqin Integrated Development in Zhuhai, a mixed-use project Shun Tak brought under full ownership in 2020, according to company disclosures.
Ho also served as chairman and executive director of Unitas Holdings, a financial advisory firm listed on the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Liaoning Links
Beyond her corporate role, Ho was active in Hong Kong’s civic and charitable sectors, including leadership positions at the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and service on the Equal Opportunities Commission. In 2016, the Hong Kong government awarded her the Bronze Bauhinia Star, its third-highest award for public service.
Although the Ho family came from Guangdong province, Maisy Ho served as founding president of the Hong Kong Federation of Liaoning Associations and as a standing committee member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Liaoning province.
Together with her sisters and Shun Tak Holdings, Ho donated HK$10 million to the support fund for Wang Fuk Court, four days after the deadly fire on 26 November 2025, according to a report by The Standard newspaper.
