Bankers, brokers and accountants lead the way as Mingtiandi brings you our first collection of personnel moves for May. Heading our list is a Hong Kong investment banker who is trading one US financial giant for another, and there’s also a new numbers boss at the parent firm for Club Med and a board level change in Singapore.

winnie ngBank of America has hired JP Morgan Securities veteran Winnie Ng to head its coverage of Hong Kong, according to a report by Bloomberg. Ng will be joining BOA in late July and will also serve as co-head of Asia Pacific real estate investment banking, according to the media account. Most recently a managing director at JP Morgan, Ng has been with the firm since 2000, according to her LinkedIn profile, and moved to Hong Kong with the banking giant in 2003, after joining in New York.

wang wenping fosun3Fosun Tourism last week announced that Wang Wenping had resigned as executive director and chief financial officer with the Hong Kong-listed unit of Shanghai’s Fosun Group, effective from 25 April. The company is replacing Wang with Choi Yin On as vice president and chief financial officer. The 37-year-old joins the parent company of Club Med and Thomas Cook from Citigroup Global Markets Asia, where he had served most recently as director of Asia Pacific real estate and lodging investment banking. The Chinese University of Hong Kong graduate also has served with DBS Bank and DBS Asia Capital.

Mr-David-OngSingapore-listed real estate developer Sing Holdings said on 27 April that David Ong Loke Min had ceased to serve as an independent director of the company, as of the previous day. Now 65, Ong had been on the board of Sing Holdings, which owns the Eastgate building on Singapore’s East Coast Road, as well as the Ocean Towers office building on Shanghai’s Yan’an Road, for more than nine years.

Amar MeraniIndia’s IIFL Asset Management has hired Amar Merani as head of real estate strategy and chief investment officer, based in its Mumbai office, according to a LinkedIn update. The division of IIFL Wealth Management hired Merani after the real estate investment veteran had previously spent nearly nine years with Xander Finance Ltd, the lending division of real estate fund manager Xander Group.

eunice tangEunice Tang has moved up a notch at New World Development in Hong Kong, where she is now a manager with the office leasing department of the HKEX-listed builder. Tang received her upgrade after more than six years as an assistant manager with the same department, after first joining New World in late 2015. The graduate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University also has previous experience with Compass Offices and The Executive Centre.

summer chenSummer Chen has been promoted to senior associate director with Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing, where she is part of the real estate consultancy’s smart building and green financial services platform. Chen takes her step up after just less than three years as an associate director with the company. The Zhejiang University graduate joined C&W in 2018 after seven years with JLL in China’s capital.
