Asia Real Estate People in the News 2024-12-23

A Korean appointment leads this week’s review of personnel moves from around Asia’s real estate industry, with a French investment manager adding to its team in Seoul. Also making the lists are board moves at a Singapore-listed REIT and at a Hong Kong-listed mainland developer.

Sunyoung Kim TikehauTikehau Capital has hired former Mirae Asset Global Investments executive Sunyoung Kim to help expand its business in South Korea, according to a LinkedIn announcement. Formerly head of the global acquisitions team for more than four years at Mirae Asset Global Investments, Kim started work at the European fund manager this month as a director based in Seoul.

The manager of Frasers Logistics and Commercial Trust announced to the Singapore stock exchange on 20 December that it has appointed Ng Wah Keong as chief financial officer of the SGX-listed REIT with effect from 3 February of next year. Now 49, Ng currently works as head of group financial planning and analysis for Mapletree Investments, after previously serving as chief financial officer of the Temasek Holdings-owned investor.

Yuan Yue AgileAgile Group Holdings informed the Hong Kong bourse on 18 December that it has appointed Yue Yuan as an executive director on its board, with effect from that same date. Currently a vice president of the Hong Kong-listed mainland developer, Yue joined Agile’s top decision-making body on the same day that independent, non-executive director Cheng Hong Kwan resigned from his board role.

Lam Sai-Hung MTRHong Kong’s MTR Corporation said on 17 December that the city’s outgoing secretary for transport and logistics, Lam Sai-Hung (pictured) has ceased to be a non-executive director of the company after having stepped down from his government role. Having taken over Lam’s secretary role, Mable Chan has been appointed to a non-executive director position on the MTR’s board, replacing Lam.

bod-bruno-de-pampelonneThe manager of IREIT Global notified the Singapore stock exchange on 16 December that Bruno de Pampelonne has resigned from his position as a non-executive director with the SGX-listed REIT with effect from 1 January. Now 66, de Pampelonne has served on the board of the Tikehau Capital-managed S-REIT since 2016 with his resignation coming as part the manager’s succession planning, according to the announcement.

Dong Baoyun Joy CityHong Kong-listed Joy City Property announced on 20 December that it has appointed Dong Baoyun to a non-executive director seat on the company’s board with effect from that same day. Currently vice chairman of the company’s supervisory board, Dong first joined Joy City’s parent company, COFCO Corporation in 2007 and currently serves as director of finance with the state-owned enterprise.

Viviana HonViviana Hon has joined Knight Frank in Hong Kong as an associate director, according to a LinkedIn update. The graduate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University joined the property consultancy after several years with rival Colliers, where she served most recently as an associate director. Hon also has previous experience with Hong Kong’s Lands Department and with JLL.

Jim SessionsJim Sessions has been promoted to senior vice president with Century 3 in Shanghai after more than nine years as vice president of business development with the construction firm, according to a LinkedIn update. The graduate of the University of Texas at Austin has now been with Century 3 for 15 years, and also has previous experience with Shanghai SIP Engineering and Consulting as well as with Horizon Management Company.
