REITs and data centres lead Mingtiandi’s roundup of personnel moves from across the region this week as a Singapore-listed trust names a new chief executive and a Bain Capital-backed data centre platform continues to add to their Singapore team. Also making the list are board moves at JD Logistics and Link REIT.
The manager of Lendlease Global Commercial REIT announced to the Singapore stock exchange on 11 February that Kelvin Chow Chung Yip (pictured) has resigned as chief executive officer of the company with effect from 31 March. Now 52, Chow is said to be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities after more than five years at the helm, with long-time Lendlease executive Guy Cawthra having been named as his successor.
Sanket Chatwani has joined Bridge Data Centres in Singapore as a senior director, according to a LinkedIn update. Chatwani joined the unit of Bain Capital-backed Chindata after two and a half years with Brookfield’s DCI Data Centers, where he had served as director for investments. Chatwani also has previous experience with Allianz Real Estate and with the private equity division of JP Morgan.
Christina Gaw has joined the board of JD Logistics as an independent, non-executive director with effect from 14 February, according to an announcement to the Hong Kong stock exchange that day. Now 52, Gaw is a managing director with Gaw Capital Partners who serves as the Hong Kong-based private equity firm’s global head of capital markets and also has previous experience with UBS Group.
The manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust announced to the Hong Kong stock exchange on 14 February that Ed Chan Yiu Cheong has retired from his independent, non-executive director role on the board of the listed REIT. Chan, who had served on Link REIT’s finance and investment committee and its remuneration committee, left the trust’s board that same day after having first been appointed in 2016.
Knight Frank said on 10 February that it has promoted Craig Shute to proprietary partner, with the property consultancy’s Asia Pacific chief also set to join its group executive board from 1 April. The latest upgrade for Shute comes four months after he had been promoted to Knight Frank’s APAC CEO role after joining the company in October 2023 as chief executive of the company’s Greater China business.
ESR Trust Management (Suntec) Ltd informed the Singapore bourse on 14 February that John Lim Hwee Chiang has resigned from his position as a non-executive director with the manager of Suntec REIT with effect from that day. Lim’s departure from Suntec REIT comes less than a month after the former ARA Asset Management leader left the board of ESR Group. ESR Group had acquired ARA in 2022.
Parkway Trust Management Ltd announced to the Singapore stock exchange 12 February that Dr Jennifer Lee Gek Choo has retired from her role as an independent director on the board of the manager of ParkwayLife REIT with effect from 21 February. Now 72, Lee, who had served as chair of the nomination and remuneration committee, as well as having a seat on the audit and risk committee, had been on the REIT’s board since 2016.
Jun Kang Tan has been promoted to senior vice president with Starwood Capital Group in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. The National University of Singapore graduate took his step up recently after two and a half years as a vice president with the US private equity firm, where he manages real estate investment across Asia Pacific. Tan also has previous experience with SC Capital Partners, CreditEase and LaSalle Investment Management.
