A change of leadership at a Tokyo-listed real estate investment trust leads this week’s review of personnel moves from around Asia’s property investment world, with updates from Canada’s Oxford Properties and Microsoft also making the list.
Japan Real Estate Investment Corporation announced on 20 February that Shojiro Kojima (pictured), the company’s representative director, president and chief executive officer will be retiring from 31 March. The manager of the REIT sponsored by Mitsubishi Estate has appointed Kazuyaki Inoue, a 34-year veteran of the real estate division of Mitsubishi Corporation to take over the three roles from 1 April.
David Xue has been promoted to director for investment at Oxford Properties Group, according to a LinkedIn update. Based in Singapore, Xue takes his step up with the property investment division of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) after two years as an associate director with the pension fund manager and more than five years after joining the organisation in Sydney.
Ashok Datta has been appointed global director of systems integration for data centre build management with Microsoft in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. In his new role Datta will be leading the recently established business, which is responsible for deployment of critical systems across Microsoft’s corporate network. The appointment is a step up from Datta’s previous role as regional director for the leased data centre construction team for Asia Pacific at Microsoft.
Mitsubishi Estate announced on 20 February that it has promoted Haruhiko Araki to a leadership role in its commercial property business in Tokyo’s Marunouchi office hub. Formerly serving as a senior executive officer with the company’s area management planning department, from 1 April Araki will serve as representative corporate executive officer and executive vice president with responsibility for Mitsubishi Estate’s Marunouchi Property Business Group.
US real estate fund manager Cabot Properties has hired Dominic Ambriano as director and head of asset management for Australia, according to an announcement by the industrial specialist. Ambriano, who joins Cabot after more than three years as an investment manager at developer and fund manager Lendlease, will oversee asset management operations across Australia, as the company expands Down Under.
Mumbai-based Tribeca Developers announced this past week that it has hired Vaibhav Agarwal as an executive director to lead its capital market strategies and fund raising. Agarwal joins the Trump Organization’s India partner from Tata Capital Housing Finance, where he had served as chief credit officer for construction finance for over six years, after earlier spending more than sixteen years at ICICI Bank.
Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management announced to the Singapore stock exchange on 20 February that it has appointed Eng Chin Chin to an independent, non-executive director posiition on the board of Keppel Infrastructure Trust with effect from the following day. Now 61, Eng had served as an audit partner with KPMG in Singapore from 1999 to 2022, when she became a principal consultant before retiring one year later.
Sean Seow has joined NTT Global Data Centers in Singapore as part of the digital infrastructure giant’s global field marketing team, according to a LinkedIn update. Seow took on his duties at the Tokyo-based firm this month as it expands its Asia Pacific network, after previously serving as head of marketing for Keppel Data Centres for just over two years. Seow also has previous experience with Digital Realty.
