A CEO appointment in India leads today’s look at real estate personnel moves from around Asia, with Blackstone naming new leadership for its industrial platform in the country. Also making the list is a post-IPO reshuffle at Singapore’s LHN Group and a pair of new executives for a Singapore-based property investor.
Blackstone’s Horizon Industrial Parks has appointed Urvish Rambhia as chief executive officer of the Mumbai-based business. Rambhia joins Horizon from Blackstone, where he served most recently as a principal with the firm’s India real estate team. At Blackstone Rambhia supported investments across sectors including data centres and logistics, and played a key role in establishing Horizon Industrial Parks, according to a statement.
Singapore’s LHN Group said on 6 November that Kelvin Lim Lung Tieng is stepping down from his role as group managing director with the SGX-listed property firm to take on the position of chief executive officer with its recently listed subsidiary, Coliwoo. Lim continues to serve as executive chairman of LHN, and his sister, Lim Bee Choo was appointed to take over the group managing director role at LHN.
Bart Coenraads has co-founded Northstar Capital in Singapore together with former colleague Chin Yarng, according to a LinkedIn announcement. The duo of former ESR and Logos executives have established the Singapore-based company to develop and manage logistics real estate investments in the region, according to the companay website. Now co-CEO of Northstar together with Chin, Coenraads served as group head of funds management for ESR after holding the same position with Logos Group before that company became part of ESR. Chin had worked as head of ESR Singapore after holding the same role at Logos.
Singapore-based investment manager Patience Capital Group said recently that it has hired former Singapore Land Authority chief executive Colin Low as CEO and head of investments for its business outside of Japan. Low spent more than four years with the government land regulator before leaving that post in April and also has previous experience as CEO of Frasers Hospitality Trust. In the same announcement, Patience said it has appointed Andy Lee Teck Choy as chief asset management officer, based in Singapore. Lee joins the firm led by former GIC executive Ken Chan after more than six years with Pontiac Land Group in Singapore, where he served most recently as an executive vice president.
Tetsuya Kaneko has joined IWG in Japan as chief strategy officer with its Regus division for the country, according to a LinkedIn update. Kaneko started into his role with the flexible office provider this month after more than a decade with Savills Japan, where he served most recently as a managing director leading the firm’s research and consultancy division. Kaneko also has previous experience with Morgan Stanley and the International Finance Corporation.
Colliers said on 6 November that it has hired Terry Wong to lead its capital markets division in Singapore. Now serving as head of capital markets and investment services for the island nation, Wong joins Colliers from rival JLL where he had served for more than three years as a senior director with the property consultancy’s capital markets team. Wong also has previous experience with fund manager Q Investment Partners.
Knight Frank announced this past week that it has appointed Tridiana Ong as executive director and head of occupier strategy and solutions with its Singapore office. Ong joins the UK-based property consultancy after more than four years with competitor Colliers, where she had worked as an executive director leading the company’s tenant representation business in the city-state. Ong also has previous experience with Cushman & Wakefield.
Yann Deschamps has joined CBRE in Taipei as a senior director with the property consultancy, according to a LinkedIn update. Deschamps picked up his new namecards recently after more than three years as vice president for Singapore at professional networking organisation Exclusive Executive Society. The veteran advisor previously held leadership roles with Arcc Spaces and Savills in the region.
JLL said this past week that it has appointed Guarav Sharma to lead its hotels and hospitality business in India. Sharma took on his new role with the hotel advisory unit of JLL this month after three years as a vice president heading asset management, mergers and acquisitions with the real estate division of The Indian Hotels Company Ltd in Mumbai. Sharma also has previous experience with hotel investment specialist SAMHI in Gurgaon.
