A capital raiser graduated from the top school for Beijing’s party elite leads this week’s list of personnel moves from around Asia Pacific, as HInes bolsters its Greater China resources. Also making the list is a data centre hire at Goldman Sachs and a promotion at one of the world’s largest digital infrastructure REITs.
Hines announced on 4 August that it has brought on board former Carlyle executive Hao Zhan as head of Asia for its private wealth solutions business. Based in Hong Kong, Zhan joins the US developer and fund manager after more than eight years with Carlyle, where he had served most recently as head of Asia for the private equity firm’s global wealth division. Zhan, who graduated from Xi Jinping’s alma mater, Tsinghua University, also has experience with Goldman Sachs in their institutional sales division.
Phillipa Weber has found a home at Goldman Sachs in Singapore as an executive director with the US financial titan’s asset management division, according to a LinkedIn update.. Weber, who specialises in data centres, joins Goldman after more than three years with Gaw Capital Partners in Singapore, where she had served as director of business development. Weber also has previous experience with JLL, Colliers and Digital Realty.
Govind Choudhary has been promoted to general manager for Southeast Asia and India with Digital Realty after more than three years with the US data centre giant. Choudhary takes his latest step up at Digital Realty after having spent just under a year and a half as a vice president for strategy and business development for Asia Pacific with the firm. Choudhary also has previous experience with the London Stock Exchange Group, Thomson Reuters and HSBC.
Jason Siu has joined up with ESR in Singapore as senior director for group financial planning and data analysis, according to a LinkedIn update. Siu joins the regional industrial specialist from rival Goodman in Hong Kong, where he had spent the past seven years as director of corporate finance for Greater China. The University of New South Wales graduate also has previous experience with logistics service provider Qube in Australia.
Charmaine Tso has signed up with EastGate Capital Management in Singapore as director for asset management with the unit of Tokyo-based real estate fund manager EastGate Group. Tso started her new role this month after more than a year with UBS in Singapore, where she had worked as a director with the direct real estate team for Asia Pacific. That UBS role followed the merger of Credit Suisse into UBS, with Tso having worked previously for Credit Suisse, as well as for Link REIT and CLSA.
Benjamin Cher has been promoted to director of asset management with the logistics division of Mapletree Investments where he looks after asset and portfolio management for the manager of SGX-listed Mapletree Logistics Trust, according to a LinkedIn update. Cher took on his new role recently after having previously served as vice president for investment with Mapletree’s European business.
Vishal Srivastava has moved up to managing director with Anarock Capital in Mumbai, after more than seven years helping to lead the fund management division of the Indian property services, according to a LinkedIn update. Srivastava started into his new duties this month after more than three years as an executive director with the same team. The industry veteran also has previous experience with JLL.
Sean Moran has climbed into a new role with Jacobs in Singapore as Asia Pacific sales growth lead with the engineering consulting firm’s business serving data centres and adjacent services, per a Linkedin post. Prior to joining Jacobs this month, Moran spent three years with design and build specialist Unispace where he had worked most recently as senior director for client development in Asia. The Dundalk Institute of Technology graduate also has previous experience with M Moser and JLL.
