The world’s fastest moving real estate sector leads today’s review of people moves from around the region, with a PAG-sponsored data centre platform bidding farewell to its founder. Also making the list is a pair of new board appointments at Brookfield’s India REIT and a pair of promotions at Indonesia’s sovereign fund.
Flow Digital Infrastructure said on 27 June that its chairman and founder, Kris Kumar, will be leaving the company to pursue philanthropic interests. Kumar is departing from the data centre unit of private equity firm PAG after the company announced in April that it had hired former American Tower president for Asia Pacific Sanjay Goel as chief executive officer, replacing Amandine Wang who departed last year. Kumar worked in telecommunications infrastructure for more than 30 years, including founding Bridge Data Centres, before helping to get Flow off the ground in 2021.
Brookfield India Real Estate Trust announced on 23 June that it had appointed Keki Mistry as an independent director on its board for a term of five years. Mistry is vice chairman and chief executive officer of Indian mortgage lender Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), and was one of two directors added to the REIT’s board that day, with Brookfield executive Rachit Kothar being named to a non-independent, non-executive position.
Indonesia Investment Authority has named Christopher Ganis (pictured) and Andry Setiawan as co-chief investment officers and directors on its board, according to the organisation’s website. The sovereign fund promoted Ganis from managing director of investments in hybrid capital solutions, just over a year after bringing him on board from BlackRock. Setiawan was also promoted from managing director of investments after joining the fund in 2021.
South Korea’s Government Employees Pension Service (GEPS) this past week appointed former KB Asset Management Co executive Sohn Young-jin as its new chief investment officer, according to local media reports citing industry sources. Formerly head of risk management at KB, Sohn has been appointed for a two year term with an option for a third year. In addition to his experience at KB Sohn also previously worked with Prudential Life Insurance in Korea.
Hong Kong developer Chevalier International Holdings informed the HKEX on 26 Jun that Ho Chung Leung will not seek re-election to his position as an executive director with the company at the listed firm’s annual general meeting in August. Ho has been with Chevalier for 40 years, according to the announcement, and is retiring from the firm’s top decision-making body to spend more time with his family.
Indian rental residential platform NeoLiv has appointed Milind Apte as senior vice president, partner and group chief human resources officer according to a company announcement. Apte joins the Mumbai-based company from construction firm KEC International where he had served as senior vice president for human resources for the past two and a half years. Apte also has previous experience with CEAT Tyres and Godrej Properties.
China Resources Land notified the Hong Kong stock exchange on 25 June that it has appointed Wang Yuhang to a non-executive director role on its board, as well as to a position on the board’s sustainability committee. Now 52, Wang served as vice president and deputy general manager of environmental health and safety with China Resources Chemical Innovative Material from 2015 to July 2024. He was deputy general manager of the same company from August 2024 through May this year.
Japan’s Global One Real Estate Investment Corp notified the Tokyo stock exchange on 27 June that as of 1 July the company’s managing executive officer Hideo Nakayama will be promoted to senior managing executive officer while Eiichiro Suzuki will be promoted to managing executive officer. Suzuki will oversee the fund and investment investment management department for the REIT sponsored by insurer Meiji Yasuda, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking and railway holding company Kintetsu Group Holdings.
