China Real Estate People in the News 2015-01-05

China’s real estate community kept busy over the holidays trying out their new jobs, with a long-time JLL broker shifting cities and switching departments, IKEA bringing on new talent and sending successful veterans on to new posts, and more. Read on for details.

Neill OBrien JLLNeill O’Brien has taken on a new role with JLL, switching to the Capital Markets team from the Office Markets department, and moving to Hong Kong as of this month. O’Brien keeps his old title of Associate Director with the real estate services firm where he has spent nearly five years after joining from Knight Frank in 2010. In his new role, the graduate of the University of Nottingham and University of Reading (Masters of Real Estate) will be advising investors and developers on acquisitions and dispositions, primarily in the Hong Kong market.

lars wild-nordlundAfter more than three years in China, IKEA real estate executive Lars Wild-Nordlund has headed back to Scandinavia, where he will be Business Development Manager for Inter IKEA Centre Group in Kastrup, Denmark. Wild-Nordlund previously headed Inter IKEA’s opening of a €260M shopping centre development project in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. The shopping centre opened in June 2014.

Kyle Wang IKEAKyle Wang has joined IKEA in Shanghai as a Facility Manager effective this month. The Fudan University graduate joins the Swedish homewares giant after spending more than eight years as a Facility Manager Shanghai chip maker SMIC, where he was responsible for three chip fab sites and for the set up of a new chip fab facility in Shenzhen. In Shanghai Wang was responsible for the central utility system including the cleanroom environment.

Vevina ChanVevina Chan has joined Tongyan Design in Shanghai as Business Development Manager. Chan takes on her new role with the local architecture, design and planning group after previously spending four months as Marketing Coordinator with US architecture firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM). Chan also spent more than one year with Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning & Design Institute where she worked as an Assistant Designer.
