Greater China Real Estate Professionals in the News 2015-12-29

2015/12/29 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Christmas is over, but it looks like at least some of Greater China’s real estate professionals will be looking forward to new roles in 2016. This week one of China’s most financially challenged developers finds a new CFO, an asset management pro decides to devote more time to golf, and much more. Read on for details.

Wang Bing is now CFO of Kaisa Group Holdings, based in Shenzhen. The six-year Kaisa veteran moves up to the C-level role after having been an executive vice president with the troubled developer. Wang, who has a background in China’s banking sector, will have his work cut out for him as Kaisa continues to try to restructure its debt obligations after falling into default earlier this year. Just this month, CITIC Bank agreed to lend the Shenzhen-based developer RMB 30 billion to assist with that restructuring.

Gerry Kipling.jpgGerry Kipling is leaving his role as an Executive Managing Director with CBRE’s Asset Services division in Hong Kong. Kipling, who joined CBRE in 2010 when the agency acquired his asset management firm PropertyOne, will continue to provide support in a consulting role starting from 1 January 2016, according to an internal announcement by the company. Following Kipling’s departure, CBRE will promote Kendrew Leung to become the head of Asset Services in Hong Kong.

patrick wongPatrick Wong has joined Bloomberg Intelligence as a Senior Research Analyst for Asia Real Estate with the US financial information provider. Wong will continue to be based in Hong Kong for his new role, where he will lead the Asia real estate team in covering both industry and company research in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Wong spent more than three and a half years with BNP Paribas as a director of property research.

jessica yimin jinJessica Yimin Jin has joined CBRE in Shanghai as a Senior Analyst with the Capital Markets team. Jin joins the real estate agency from competitor JLL where she has spent the last two and a half years as an analyst with the investment team there. The graduate of California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and Shanghai Finance University also has experience working with the American Chamber of Commerce.

truman qinTruman Qin has been promoted to Deputy Chief of Business Development Bureau No. 1 with the Tianjin Xiqing Economic-Technological Development Area in Tianjin. In his new role, Qin is in charge of helping industrial occupiers to find suitable workshops, warehouses and offices for their businesses in the industrial zone. The graduate of Tianjin Foreign Studies University formerly served with Tianjin Xiqing’s Shanghai office as a project manager.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
