Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-06-06

2016/06/06 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

This week we have already covered top level moves at Invesco and GLP, but China’s real estate community is not through changing jobs yet, as a veteran shed shifter prepares to take on the Pyrenees, a mainland banker signs up with the property world in Sydney and much more. Read on for all the details.

Darren Benson-01.jpgDarren Benson has decided to take a break from the corporate grind and will be leaving his role as Executive Director for Industrial & Logistics Brokerage Services, Asia at CBRE to open up a B&B in France. Soon to be based in the Pyrenees, the shed broker and fitness enthusiast says that his new hostelry will cater to outdoors-lovers, particularly cyclists. Benson had been with CBRE in Hong Kong since 2009, after joining from rival JLL.

michael-zhangMichael Zhang has joined JLL as Head of its China Desk for Australia, based in Sydney. The University of New South Wales graduate comes to the property consultancy from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Australia where he was Senior Vice President, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Head of Property Finance. Zhang also has previous experience with Lloyd’s Banking Group and ANZ Bank, and has provided funding to Chinese property groups including Wanda, Country Garden and Fuwah.

paul-fisherPaul Fisher has joined JLL in Hong Kong as a director with the tenant representation team for the property consultancy. Fisher takes on his new role after previously serving with DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield in the city as its Head of Corporate Tenant Representation. Prior to that director-level role, the University of Salford graduate had been an associate director with DTZ after joining the real estate agency in 2005.

hao-tangHao Tang is now General Manager for Investment and Overseas Business at TusPark Jiangsu Development in Nanjing. In his new role the veteran industrial development executive is charged with promoting overseas cooperation at the business park, including arranging incubation services and managing technology transfer. Tang joins TusPark’s Nanjing operation after previously serving as an assistant director with the Jiangsu International Reseach Institute of Industrial Technology and as a Project Manager with the Foreign Investment Promotion Bureau at Jiangsu Gaochun Economic Development Zone in Nanjing.

lynn-leeLynn Lee has joined DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing as a Senior Consultant with the company’s Retail Services team. Lee moved into her role with the property agency after spending just the last three months as an investment analyst with Savills in Beijing, and another one year as a graduate management trainee with the property services firm. Lee completed her Master of Science at the University of Dundee in the UK in 2014.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
