2016/04/18 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

China’s first quarter results are in and the career story for Greater China’s real estate professionals seems to be a barrage of promotions, rather than layoffs – so it seems like the mainland’s stimulus program might be working. This week we see a group of agency executives getting stepping up, and a retail specialist taking over operations for one of fast fashion’s biggest brands. Read on for all the details.

https://cn.linkedin.com/in/rowan-verwoerd-5378745Rowan Verwoerd is now interim Director of Operations for C&A China, based in Shanghai. Verwoerd takes on this new interim role after previously serving as Business Development Director for C&A in China for more than seven years. The retail real estate professional and member of the China Leadership Board for the International Council of Shopping Centers also has several years experience with Redevco in the Netherlands, where he previously served as project manager and property manager.

paul hubbardPaul Hubbard-Brown has been promoted to Executive Director with CBRE Asia Pacific where he will focus on assisting occupiers through the property agency’s Advisory & Transaction Services business line. Based in Hong Kong since 2009, Hubbard-Brown previously served as a Senior Director with the company’s Occupier Advisory & Transaction Services team, as well as spending more than five years on the Global Workplace Solutions team.

nicola tangNicola Tang has moved up to Associate Director with the Retail Services division of CBRE in Hong Kong, effective this month. Before taking on this new role, Tang had spent just over one year with CBRE’s retail team in the city, working as a Senior Manager. Previously at DTZ in Hong Kong, Tang achieved her Masters of Science degree in Construction and Real Estate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014.

patrick stevensPatrick Stevens has been promoted to Senior Manager at CBRE in Hong Kong, one of the set of recent promotions regionally by the real estate agency. Stevens’ latest step up comes after more than two years with CBRE’s offices services team in Hong Kong, where he has been advising commercial occupiers on the Kowloon office market. Stevens also previously spent one year as an analyst in CBRE’s research department in the city.

richard-guoRichard Guo is now Sales Management Director with the tenant representation group with CBRE’s Office Services for Northern China. Based in Beijing, Guo is now leading the company’s CRM implementation in the northern China region, and is supporting the company’s line managers in implementing sales management and systems for their office leasing team. Guo formerly spent three years with CBRE’s residential services division in the city.

daniel schwartzerDaniel Shwartzer has been promoted to Manager with CBRE, based in Beijing. This latest step up comes just one year after Shwartzer had been promoted to Senior Negotiator with the real estate agency. In his new role, the Amherst College graduate and previous winner of CBRE’s “Rookie of the Year” award will continue to advise on office leasing transactions for corporate occupiers in the Beijing market.

loren-liLoren Li is now a Manager with the Landlord Representation team at Colliers International, based in Shanghai. The graduate of Shanghai’s Tongji University joined Colliers as a Creative Designer in 2010.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
