Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-04-11

This week a former head guy for a top agency in Singapore heads off to New York, a Singaporean real estate fund manager heads home from life in Shanghai, and a leading law firm appoints a new head for its Shanghai real estate practice. Read on for all these moves and more.

toby doddToby Dodd has headed back to the US to take on the role of Executive Managing Director for Global Occupier Services for the Americas with Cushman & Wakefield. Now based in New York, Dodd will be managing C&W’s key accounts in the northeastern US, including the New York area, and will oversee a staff of over 1,800 people. Before taking on this new challenge, Dodd had served as Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield in Singapore.

kok-eng-limKok Eng Lim has been promoted to Fund Manager with Lendlease in Singapore. Lim takes on his new role with the Australian real estate developer and investor after previously serving as its Investment Director, based in Shanghai, for just over one year. Prior to joining Lendlease, the University of Oxford-trained engineer had worked as a Manager with CapitaMalls in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Singapore.

wayne-maWayne Ma has joined DLA Piper in Shanghai as a partner in charge of real estate for the international law firm. Ma, has over a decade of experience in Asia with experience in cross border real estate transactions, as well as acquisitions and dispositions of real property, joint ventures, private equity and institutional investments and fund formation. Ma was previously a partner in Paul Hastings’ Shanghai office.

ivan wongIvan Wong is now Director of Office Services for Kowloon with Colliers International. Continuing to be based in Hong Kong, Wong this promotion represents a step up from the office leasing specialist’s former role as a Senior Associate Director for Office Services in the same office. Wong, who graduated from the University of Hong Kong’s real estate program, has now been with Colliers for just under eight years.

winey-wongWiney Wong has joined Savills in Hong Kong as an Assistant Manager with the consultancy’s commercial leasing team, based in Guangzhou. Wong, who achieved a master’s degree in in commercial real estate from the University of Hong Kong joins Savills from DTZ, where she had served as an Assistant Manager in the company’s Retail Services department for five months. Wong also has previous experience at Colliers International in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
