Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-03-14

2016/03/14 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Greater China’s real estate community has seen some agency veterans change out their name cards in recent months and many of these migrants appear to be taking their teams with them as we see a continued flow of role changes at the international property consultancies. This week we have a retail veteran changing shops after more than 15 years, nearly an entire team of investment advisors strolling up Nanjing Lu to a new office and a veteran industrial guy packing up his business suit to try out the surf for a while. Read on for all the details.

helen makHelen Mak has joined Knight Frank in Hong Kong as a Senior Director and head of retail services in the city. The veteran advisor on retail real estate takes on her new role after being at Colliers International since 2001, where she served most recently as a Senior Director. At Knight Frank, Mak will be reunited with her former boss and long-time co-worker Piers Brunner, who became the consultancy’s Greater China head last year after previously leading Colliers’ offices in the region.

nigel inghamNigel Ingham has traded in his business gear for a surfboard after leading Colliers International’s industrial team in China for more than six years. Ingham was given an industrial-strength sendoff by Shanghai’s brokerage community earlier this month, and has already left town to take some time off before starting his next challenge in his native Auckland. Once thoroughly rested up, the expert advisor on China’s workshops and warehouses will be advising Kiwi and international clients on their logistics and manufacturing projects after having taken an ownership stake in a thriving industrial brokerage in New Zealand.

steven rescoSteven Resco has joined JLL in Shanghai as a National Director and head of project management services for the property consultancy. The former EC Harris and Sweett Group executive has now relocated to Shanghai from Hong Kong, where he had recently been operating his own project management service. At EC Harris, Resco had led the consultancy’s programme management efforts for Asia, after serving for more than eight years with Sweett Group.

ken xuKen Xu has joined JLL in Shanghai as a local director with the Capital Markets team. Xu comes to the property consultancy from CBRE at the same time that his former boss, Johnny Shao takes the reins of JLL’s investment services division for eastern China. Xu had served at CBRE for less than one year after joining in 2015 from Savills. The real estate investment specialist also has experience with Singaporean developer Ascendas.

crystal maoCrystal Mao has also become part of the migration to JLL’s capital markets team, joining the company’s Shanghai office as an Assistant Manager this month. The graduate of the University of Southern California and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics had spent a total of over two years at CBRE – first as a valuer, and then later becoming an analyst in the company’s investment department, where she worked with Ken Xu and Johnny Shao.

elite zengElite Zeng has moved up a notch to become a Director with Duff & Phelps in Beijing. Zeng took on his new position earlier this month after spending more than four years with the valuation and corporate finance advisory firm, most recently as a Vice President. The specialist in real estate valuation and portfolio valuation also has previous experience with Marsh & McLennan Companies in China’s capital.

frank fangFrank Fang has joined Knight Frank in Shanghai as an Associate Director with the company’s Industrial and Commercial Services division. Fang signed up with the property consultancy after nearly three years advising clients on industrial transactions at Colliers International in eastern China. In his new role the graduate of China’s Northeastern University will continue to focus on industrial work, including manufacturing and logistics site selection.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
