Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2015-11-09

This week Greater China’s real estate professionals are as restive as ever, with an industrial real estate veteran taking over the reins for a red-chip warehouse developer in Beijing, a doctor of real estate joining a fund management giant in Singapore, and another familiar China face heading home to the UK. Read on for more details.

will zhengWill Zheng has been promoted to Managing Director with China Logistics Warehouses, an industrial real estate subsidiary of red chip investment house Beijing Properties (Holdings) Ltd. Now based in Beijing, Zheng will take responsibility for expanding the platform for the Hong Kong-listed warehouse developer and operator, after previously looking after the company’s operations in Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao free trade zone. Prior to joining Beijing Properties, Zheng spent four years with CBRE Global Investors and three years with US logistics developer AMB (now Prologis).

Eric LiEric Li Zhiliang has joined ARA Asset Management in Singapore as a Manager for strategies in the real estate fund management company’s Portfolio Management division. Li comes to ARA Asset Management from UK-based M&G Real Estate where he had served for more than three years as Assistant Manager of Investment Research and Strategy. The Shandong native also holds a PhD in real estate finance and economics from the National University of Singapore.

derek moirDerek Moir has headed back to the UK to become a Director for new building project management with Savills in London. Moir takes on his new role after spending nearly seven years in China, most recently as a director with Turner & Townsend, where he ran the British project management firm’s Beijing office. The University of Reading graduate also had experience in China with Tesco Property and DTZ.

royce sawRoyce Saw is now a Senior Partner with Swordpeace Capital, a local real estate fund focusing on opportunities in technology and innovation park projects in China. Saw takes on his new role after leaving CBRE earlier this year after spending more than seven years with the real estate agency. At CBRE Saw specialised in the Pudong office market, and also led the business park team for eastern China.

mingshu huangMingshu Huang has joined top five Chinese developer Evergrande Real Estate as a Project Manager, based in Beijing. Huang comes to the developer headed by flamboyant billionaire Xu Jiayin (also known by his Cantonese name Hui Ka-yan) after spending nearly two and a half years with state-run competitor Gemdale Corporation. The graduate of China’s Southwest University for Nationalities also has experience with the China Academy for Social Sciences, a leading mainland think tank.
