Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2015-06-22

This week Greater China’s real estate community comes back from the dragon boat holiday to find a few more familiar faces in new places including a major agency losing its head of retail for China, project managers on the move, and government guys getting new gigs in Hong Kong. Read on for the details on all this and more…

hsiang yun chuHsiang-Yun Chu has joined Shanghai Dream Center as General Manager for Commercial and Planning with the joint venture company formed by DreamWorks animation studios, Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong group, and the Shanghai government’s CMC Capital Partners fund. Chu joins the retail, entertainment and office project from CBRE in Shanghai, where he formerly headed up the agency’s Retail Services division nationwide.

henry wongHenry Wong is now an Estate Surveyor with the Lands Department of the Hong Kong government. In his new role, Wong is responsible for land administration in the region, including valuation and research and analysis. This latest step for the University of Hong Kong graduate comes after he spent the last six months as a valuation surveyor with the government’s rating and valuation department, and after spending a year as a project surveyor with the lands department.

chloe tangChloe Tang has joined BNP Paribas as an Analyst based in Hong Kong. Tang joins the French financial services giant after spending the past year and a half with real estate agency CBRE in Hong Kong. The 2013 graduate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University joined CBRE while still in university, serving first as an intern for more than one year, and subsequently spending the last twenty-two months as a full-time analyst.

ShanShanmuganathan Arumugam has joined SIP Project Management in Beijing as a Business Development Executive. Arumugam joins the Shanghai-based international firm firm after spending more than two years in China, first with DTZ in Beijing as an Assistant Project Manager, and later joining Infinity Design and Engineering in the capital as a project manager. Arumugam has also recently completed his Master’s degree in engineering at Tsinghua University.

lily liuLily Liu has been promoted to Senior Manager for Business Development at The Executive Centre in Shenzhen, just across the border from Hong Kong. Liu’s promotion comes after spending more than three years with the serviced office provider, first as a business development executive, and the Sichuan International Studies University graduate was later promoted to manager in the business development department.
