In other fresh moves around the region, a fund manager gets a promotion at Lendlease’s China operation in Shanghai, and a Hong Kong-listed developer appoints the former chief financial officer of Yuzhou Properties as a vice president, while WeWork hires a new enterprise business development director for Southeast Asia in Singapore.

Prashant Gupta has resigned from Emaar India after just over a year as chief executive officer, citing personal reasons. Following his appointment last year, Gupta had said that the Indian arm of Dubai-headquartered Emaar Properties was on track to complete all 10,000 units of its delayed projects. Gupta is reported to be moving back to Bengaluru where he had been chief executive officer of Indian conglomerate Aditya Birla Group’s online retail business from 2014 until 2018, and had served as president in the chairman’s office between 2011 and 2014. The graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology was a partner at McKinsey and Co for 11 years before joining Aditya Birla.

Kok Eng Lim has stepped up to senior fund manager at Lendlease in Shanghai, following three years as a fund manager with the Australian real estate company’s China operation. Lim joined Lendlease in 2015 as an investment director after parting ways with CapitaLand, where he had been a general manager for CapitaMalls Asia in the investment and asset management team for East China. The University of Oxford graduate worked for the Singapore developer for more than six years.

Wong Chin Hung has been appointed by Hong Kong-listed DaFa Properties Group as a vice president after resigning as chief financial officer of Yuzhou Properties on 7 July. In his new role for DaFa Properties, which recorded contracted sales of RMB 7.1 billion over the first half of the year, Wong will be responsible for the developer’s overseas capital market business. He has been replaced by Chiu Yu Kang at Yuzhou Properties, who is joining from HKBridge Financial Holdings and had served previously as Yuzhou Properties’ chief financial officer between 2008 and 2015.

Duncan White has been hired by WeWork as an enterprise business development director for Southeast Asia, after parting ways with Colliers International in Singapore where he had been executive director and head of office services for over three years. Prior to this, White had served as an associate director for M Moser Associates from 2014 until 2015. The Oxford Brookes University graduate was also the co-founder of boutique real estate advisory firm GPSG Real Estate Advisors.

Joanna Shaotong He has made the move to LaSalle Investment Management in Shanghai, leaving Grosvenor Group where she had been an investment analyst for the UK-headquartered property group for four years. The graduate of South Carolina’s Clemson University was a graduate management trainee at Colliers International in Beijing from 2014 and 2015.

Wolfgang Wanninger has joined JLL as a manager in the property agent’s Shanghai-based China digital solutions division after leaving IT company 4U Systems where he had served as head of workplace strategy since June 2017 and as a business development manager for a year previous to that. Prior to his time at 4U Systems, Wanninger worked for designer eyewear e-retailer as a market specialist between 2015 and 2016.
