Dylan Taylor Named CEO of Colliers Real Estate Services

Dylan Taylor to become CEO of Colliers Real Estate Services on January 1st

Colliers International announced late on Thursday that its president and chief operating officer Dylan Taylor had been appointed CEO of Colliers Real Estate Services, effective January 1st.

The new role for Taylor comes three-and-a-half years after the company veteran took his current role with the global property brokerage and service provider, and less than six months after Colliers expanded into the real estate investment management field by acquiring 75 percent of Chicago-based Harrison Street Real Estate Capital for $450 million.

“Dylan Taylor’s appointment to CEO of Colliers Real Estate Services recognizes his success in building our operations over the last nine years. He will continue to be the driving force behind our growth in real estate services globally and perhaps most importantly, delivering exceptional client experience in the years to come,” said Jay Hennick, Global Chairman and CEO of Colliers. “In 2015, we established an ambitious plan to double the size of our business by 2020 and I’m confident that with Dylan’s commitment and leadership, we will achieve this goal.”

Agency Business Gets Its Own CEO

In his new role with the NASDAQ and Toronto-listed firm 48-year-old Taylor will be expected to focus “on the growth, operational effectiveness and client service opportunities in the Company’s rapidly growing real estate services segment,” according to a statement by Colliers.

Hennick, whose property management firm, FirstService, acquired what was then Colliers Macaulay Nicholls in 2004, will continue to serve as global chairman and CEO of Colliers International, where he will continue to be responsible for overall strategy and execution across the company’s businesses including its recently established investment management unit.

Colliers International was spun off from FirstService into a separately listed unit in 2015, with Taylor adding president to his title as COO shortly thereafter.

A Colliers Star Rises

Taylor originally joined Colliers in 2009 as CEO of its US business, after having served as president of global services for competing agency Newmark Knight Frank since 2005. He was named global COO in July 2014.

A graduate of the University of Arizona who went on to earn an MBA degree at the University of Chicago, Taylor was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute for his community contributions and also has previous management experience with JLL and Johnson Electric.
