Matthew Bouw’s expanded role begins next month
Cushman & Wakefield has promoted Asia Pacific boss Matthew Bouw to an expanded brief as the consultancy’s chief executive of APAC and EMEA, effective from the first of May.
In his new role, Bouw will oversee “a single operating model” across the two regions in order to provide scale and balance of services to drive growth and offer clients better global connectivity and access to talent, Cushman & Wakefield said in a release. The Melbourne-based Aussie will relocate to London under the new title.
“Matthew is a proven, visionary leader with over 30 years of experience in building and growing successful businesses,” said Andrew McDonald, global president and chief operating officer of Cushman & Wakefield. “He steps into this critical role as we continue to accelerate growth and help our clients solve problems through exceptional advice and execution of services across geographies.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s current EMEA CEO, Colin Wilson, will step down but continue in an advisory role to ensure an orderly transition, putting a cap on nearly three decades spent at the Chicago-based company and legacy firm DTZ.
Veteran Administrator
Bouw has served as CEO of the APAC region since 2017 after previously holding executive positions in the Chicago office, including global chief administrative officer and global chief HR and strategy officer.

Colin Wilson is leaving Cushman & Wakefield after 29 years with the firm and its predecessor DTZ
Those earlier roles ensured that he was “intimately involved” in the process of the firm’s 2015 merger with DTZ, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
Before joining the firm, the RMIT University grad performed consulting and management duties for companies including PwC, Aviva, Orica, Leighton and UGL. Bouw’s stated areas of specialisation include strategy, M&A, large-scale integrations, business turnarounds, talent management and building high-performing teams.
“It is a huge honour to take on this new role, which presents an incredible opportunity to harness our complementary strengths in each region to accelerate the growth of our business and to further enhance the advice, solutions and services we deliver for our clients every day,” Bouw said.
Next Chapter Beckons
Departing chief Wilson joined DTZ in 1996 and ran the central London investment team from 2002 to 2012. Before assuming his present role in 2017 he served as head of UK and Ireland.
Wilson is leaving the organisation to pursue the next chapter in his career, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
“His immeasurable contributions to the company and the EMEA region in particular have been widely recognised and impactful over his 29 years with the firm,” the consultancy said.
