Colliers on Tuesday announced the promotion of Bastiaan van Beijsterveldt to the role of managing director for Singapore, as the property services firm continues to refresh its Asia-based leadership.
Van Beijsterveldt moves from his previous position of executive director and head of occupier services for Singapore. In the new post he will help drive the company’s growth to build scale in the city-state, Colliers said in a release.
“Our market leaders play a significant part in driving our business, and Bastiaan epitomises the essence of our enterprising culture by way of his growth mindset and drive to better serve and expand our client relationships,” said John Kenny, APAC CEO at Colliers. “I look forward to seeing him work with our market leaders in Singapore and across Asia Pacific to build upon our collaborative culture and entrepreneurial spirit to accelerate growth.”
In 2015, Colliers had appointed Wei Leng Tang as Singapore managing director, with the investment expert continuing to serve with the company as head of capital markets in Singapore, where she will work together with van Beijsterveldt and members of the local leadership team, a Colliers representative told Mingtiandi.
APAC Track Record
Van Beijsterveldt joined Colliers in April 2019 and has 15 years of experience in transaction management, tenant representation, portfolio reviews and divestment analysis.
Before his time at Colliers, van Beijsterveld worked in corporate solutions and tenant representation at JLL for two non-contiguous three-year stints in Singapore and Seoul. In the interim he spent one year as a manager at Pepper Financial Services Group in Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
After completing undergraduate studies in the Netherlands, van Beijsterveld earned a master’s degree in international real estate markets from the University of Aberdeen.
“Singapore is one of Colliers’ fastest growing operations in Asia Pacific and well positioned for significant growth,” van Beijsterveldt said. “I am excited to lead this team as Colliers leaders from around the world look at Singapore as a best-in-class example of what can be achieved through strong collaboration and an unyielding commitment to delivering exceptional results.”
Regional Team Expands
Van Beijsterveldt’s promotion comes after Colliers in November appointed Chris Pilgrim as the firm’s Singapore-based managing director for the APAC capital markets team. Pilgrim previously served as global capital markets director after joining Colliers from CBRE in June 2021.
In Hong Kong, Colliers earlier this month announced three high-level appointments led by the hiring of former JLL exec Joshua Stone to serve as a senior director in the office services department.
Alongside Stone, Sindy Ho rejoined Colliers from Great Eagle Holdings for a second stint as a director of office services, while Kelvin Lee will hold that same title after spending 20 years as head of leasing at Hong Kong Cyberport Management.
