China Real Estate Professionals in the News 2014-05-19

This week Asia’s real estate community sees a number of agency people hopping to new shops across Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as new opportunities for professionals at developers, design firms and finance companies across the region. Read on for details…

Vera Yanti KretschmarVera Yanti Kretschmar has joined CBRE’s retail services team in Hong Kong after previously managing her own public relations firm, Prestige PR Consulting where she covered both Shanghai and Hong Kong. Kretschmar also has experience as a Brand Director with Italian jewelry firm Stroili Oro, where she spent one year, after previously serving with CBRE’s retail team in Shanghai.

Neo Shi has joined developer Pearl River Investment/Hopson as National Head, Office Leasing and Management for the property developer, based in Shanghai. A graduate of Shanghai’s Fudan University, Shi comes to Pearl River after spending 8 months at Taikang Real Estate as Asset Management and Investment Manager. Earlier, he had served with both Vanke and Hang Lung.

James Zhou has taken on a new role as a Director with property services firm Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai, where he will be the head of the company’s business parks team. Zhou joins C&W after spending more than six years with competitor JLL, where he specialised in brokering business park space.

Janice ZhangJanice Zhang is now Manager of Office Leasing with CapitaLand Limited in Shanghai, where she is responsible for the company’s RafflesCity Chang Ning project. Zhang joined the Singaporean developer last month after spending five years as a leasing manager with Forterra Trust’s (formerly known as Treasury China Trust) project “The HQ.”

Charmaine ShiCharmaine Shi has joined the Capital Markets team at JLL in Shanghai since last month. Before coming on board at the real estate consultancy Shi had served as an Associate Director for business development with The Executive Center for two years. Earlier, the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade graduate had worked in sales with Servcorp and GE.

Jessica TayJessica Tay has joined DB&B as a Director in the interior design firm’s Bangkok office. Tay, who formerly spent nearly three years as Senior Business Development Manager with JLL in Singapore, has relocated to Thailand following maternity leave, and just joined DB&B this month. Prior to joining JLL, Tay had spent two years working for DB&B in Singapore with regional responsibility.

leon ang liLeon (Ang) Li has joined JLL in Beijing as an Assistant Manager with the company’s office leasing team. Li took on his new role this month after having spent nearly three years with competitor Savills, where he began his career in consultancy, before moving over to brokerage. Li is a Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture graduate, where he majored in industrial design.

Erica ChengErica Cheng is now a Manager with Pingan Real Estate in Shenzhen after having previously served for less than a year with JLL’s office in the southern Chinese city. Cheng, who has a master’s degree from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, specialises in financial modelling and had earlier been employed with CDG Retail Management in Shenzhen for 10 months.

Jeffrey Hartanto is now an Assistant Manager with JLL in Shenzhen after leaving Cushman & Wakefield’s team last month. During his 18 months at C&@, Hartanto had responsibility for business development, as well as for brokering space requirements in the Shenzhen market. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, the Shenzhen University graduate had spent one year with Grupo Barco.

Zoey Zhang is now an Assistant Manager at Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing, having been promoted from the rank of Consultant. Zhang has now spent two years at the property services company, after joining from Asia Real Estate Club, where she served as a sales manager after graduating from the Dalian University of Foreign Languages.
