China Real Estate People in the News 2014-12-15

The weather may have turned cold and the skies over Beijing are running thick, but job changes don’t stop for China’s real estate professionals. This week a veteran China real estate hand gets naked, two veteran brokers take a step up and more. Read on for more details.

Phil TregaskisPhil Tregaskis has joined naked Retreats as Vice President for Projects at the boutique resort developer. In his new role the Monash University graduate and China veteran is responsible for the delivery of all new naked Retreats projects. Tregaskis joins naked after spending more than two years with Rockefeller family investment firm Rose Rock Group where he served as Senior Vice President. Tregaskis also has experience in China with JLL and US developer Hines.

Ken Kan ColliersKen Kan has been promoted to Deputy General Manager at Colliers International in Shenzhen. Kan’s promotion comes three years after the graduate of Sydney’s Macquarie University joined the real estate services firm’s team in the southern metropolis. Kan also has experience with Colliers in Hong Kong and Shanghai where he previously focused on office leasing deals before taking on general management responsibilities in his latest role.

Austin Xu ColliersAustin Xu has jumped to the Investment Services team at Colliers International in Shanghai as an Associate Director. Xu will now be servicing clients for en bloc and strata title investment transactions after spending five years with Colliers’ office leasing department. The Tongji University graduate also spent more than four years with Knight Frank in Shanghai consulting on office leasing transactions.

Steven Tay SurbanaSteven Tay has joined Surbana International Consultants Pte Ltd as Director M&E Engineering for China with the urban development consultancy affiliated with Singapore’s Housing and Urban Development Board. In his new role Tay will be based in Chengdu with responsibility for building the firm’s mechanical and electrical capabilities in China, particularly in the area of green technologies.

Christine Li MTRChristine Li has joined Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation Limited as a Property Development Surveyor with the operator and developer of the city’s mass transit system. Li takes on her new role after spending more than two years with Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong, where she served most recently as an Assistant Manager with the property services firm’s Valuations and Advisory Services division.

Kenneth Li Ping AnKenneth Li has joined Ping An Trust as an Assistant Investment Manager with the Chinese state-owned insurance giant. The University of Auckland graduate takes on his new role with Ping An after less than a year with Guangdong-based developer Country Garden Holdings, where he served as an Overseas Investment Manager in the President’s Office. Li also has prior experience in marketing with developer Hong Kong Land.
